Abbey Gardens is an open access community run shared harvest garden maintained by volunteers. The Garden provides opportunities for teaching food growing and gardening skills whilst also providing locally grown produce. CHAOS provides free camping holidays for disadvantaged children who would not otherwise have one. It operates in East London and serves boroughs including Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets, Havering and Hackney. Recommendations for places on CHAOS holidays are usually made through the charity's links with schools, social services and other welfare groups.

Hackney Youth Orchestras Trust is a music school for children and young people living or studying in Hackney and neighbouring boroughs. The School's progressive concessions policy makes it accessible to groups currently under-represented in music education. Students are taught by professional musicians both individually and in groups, leading to regular free public concert performances.
