GPG carries out various activities in Penarth and environs, with the overall aim of protecting the environment for the public benefit. Our chief current projects, supported either as leader or partner, include Benthyg Penarth, Penarth Growing Community, Plastic Free Penarth and the Cosmeston Orchard.

The association is active in the area of public benefit, facilitating local, regional and national elections, community police meetings and health and wellbeing sessions.

Provision of statutory library services as part of a service level agreement with the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Provision of IT services, event/meeting/leisure space to the community. Provision of private library services. Provide activities for children and adults, including crafting, book club, knitting/sewing groups, and performances. Provide library resources to local primary school.

The Chamber Music festival provides several concerts a year at a Festival usually at the end of March. They also give a "friends of the Festival" special concert at the end of the year.During the year the artists visit local primary schools and care homes to give presentations and educational experiences to children and elderly people. This has proved to be very successful.

our objective is to advance the education of pupils in the school by both developing effective relations between parents, staff and others associated with the school, and by helping to provide facilities and equipment which support the learning environment. This is achieved through organising various social and fund-raising events, and offering practical help wherever needed.

A charity that educates and promotes farming and associated activites in rural areas to young people between the ages of 10 and 26. Activities include social events, competitions, trips away and courses.

Manages lost cost rented accommodation in Vale of Glamorgan

Newport Borough Brass is a traditional British brass band. The Band, as its name suggests is based in Newport, Gwent in South East Wales where it operates. The Band has a very professional outlook and plays at local fetes, concerts, private and public functions, in addition the Band is a contesting band and is currently in the 2nd Section nationally and in the 2nd section in Wales.

Provides a community hall facility for the use of the local community.

Fundraising for the school through events and donation drives; such as the summer fete, quiz night, sponsored events, themed raffles and discos.

Fund Raising

Hedgehog Helpline operates in South East Wales. We rescue, rehabilitate and release sick, inured or orphaned hedgehogs to release back into the wild. During 2023 we received 1225 hedgehogs We received in excess of 3500 calls on HelplineWe are a volunteer run charityWe attended 46 events/venues to give talks etc to educate and raise awareness of the plight of the hedgehog

The Penarth Civic Society focuses on the heritage, people and future development of Penarth.The Society was founded in 1988 after a group of people who wanted to save the old Baths Building from redevelopment started a campaign to save it for the town.The aims of that group have expanded to include the preservation and enhancement of all aspects of our heritage and environment.

Our activity is to provide TLC Bears to A & E and Hospital Departments through the South Wales area
