Charities In West Sussex

The Sussex Harmonisers club advances, promotes and encourages the art of barbershop singing and a cappella harmony in quartet and chorus form for adults of all ages. It has male- and female-voice choruses which perform at arts festivals, community events and in public to entertain and raise funds for its charity. Its male chorus is a member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers.

The activities of the charity include the monthly lunch club for older people, support for the Heyshott Pre-School held in the hall on three days each week in term-time and acting as a focal point for village meetings and activities. Overnight accommodation is provided for walking groups and girl guides. The charity maintains three cottages and has an annual maintenance and repair programme for it

Events to raise funds to benefit the pupils of Graffham and Duncton Schools, including social events, christmas and summer fayres, sale of fund raising goods

Raising funds through events for the PTA

Worthing Division of the worldwide Girl Guiding association. locally known as the Cissbury Division.

Promotion of social inclusion among families who are excluded from society, due to their social and economic position, health, trauma, or lack of self-worth and confidence; by the provision of drop in play sessions, parenting conversations and support groups to enable parents and other family members to develop new skills and gain confidence, operating in England, mainly Mid-Sussex.

The diffusion of Unitarian principles and the support of member congregations in their work in the community through regular meetings, social events and such other joint activities as may from time to time be decided.

The maintenance and operation of the Coultershaw Beam Pump (a Scheduled Ancient Monument) and the Coultershaw water turbine, the promotion of further restoration of the Coultershaw Heritage Site accessible to the public as an archive and educational resource.

To educate and train the general public with the keeping of Vintage Vehicles whether they be motor driven or steam, traction engines, and all items of machinery, to include agriculture, horticulture and stationary engines, motor cycles, pedal cycles and all modes of transport.

Providing facilities for the inhabitants of Rake and neighbourhood.

We provide activities and interests for the peple of Petworth and the surrounding area.

We are the PTA for the named infant school. We raise money and give donations to the school for the purchase of specialist educational equipment.

TO PROMOTE THE CARE TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM COMPLAINTS RELATING TO EAR NOSE AND THROAT(OR FROM ANY OTHER MEDICAL PROBLEMS) AND TO PROMOTE OR ASSIST IN THE PROMOTION OF PUBLIC EDUCATION RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION OF THE RESULTS OF ANY SUCH RESEARCH RELATING THERETO.

LS Dogs (SX) was formed in March 2003 to support the Police in the Search of missing, vulnerable people throughout both East & West Sussex, and 24 hours a day all year round.The team has now taken part in searches throughout Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Dorset, Surrey, Norfolk & Buckinghamshire, being called out on average 30-40 times a year.

Rotary motto: Service above self. Rotary raises monies to help those in need both in the UK and abroad. It holds various events to fundraise and the members of the club, as many as are physically able, all participate to the best of their abilities. Rotary intends that its work gives enjoyment to its members through service to others. The good causes vary tremendously in scope.
