THE CHARITY MAKES FINANCIAL GRANTS TO WEST DEAN CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL AND ASSOCIATED PRE-SCHOOL

To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Lurgashall and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation or leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social or economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare

To identify composition students age 14 - 19 who would benefit from the support the Foundation is able to offer. To enable selected composition students to access educational activities which are not generally available to them such as tutorial mentorships. To provide public performances of selected students' compositions, promoting these to reach a wide public audience.

Friends of Thakeham School work together with parents, staff and pupils to hold various events in the school and community. We hold events as Christmas Fayre, run stalls at Thakeham village day, hold movie nights and discos. We then use funds raised to contribute to a range of goods and services to help advance the education of pupils at school. We have purchased playground equipment & laptops.

To encourage the practice and enjoyment of gardening and further the education of gardeners in Lodsworth and some surrounding villages which have no garden club of their own.

To advance the education of the public by affording them access to the cottage at 346 High Street in Petworth restored and furnished as a typical cottage on the Leconfield Estate as it might have been in Petworth's heyday as an estate town in 1910 or thereabouts.

Education & fellowship.

Receation ground, pavilion and tennis courts for sports activities and social events.

The provision of a meeting place for senior citizens in, and around, the Petworth area thus encouraging companionship and conversation. Numerous activities and outings are arranged throughout the year together with regular scrabble, bingo, card and quiz sessions. The centre is generally open Monday to Friday between 10.00am and 12.00pm and in the afternoons between 2.00pm and 4.00pm.

FUNDRAISING FOR BIRDHAM SCHOOL

The objects of the charity are to promote the arts for the public benefit in particular the art of poetry and to advance public education and appreciation of the art of poetry in Chichester District, South Downs and surrounding areasby providing an annual poetry festival and/or other poetry events and/or educational outreach programmes and by the publication of publications.

Preservation of St James Heyshott Church

To help and educate young people in the Parish of Bosham through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental, and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved, in particular by the establishment and support of a youth centre in the said Parish of Bosham

Supporting estranged parents to have regular contact with their children

Promoting and encouraging the preservation and development of the village of Lindfield

The Charity used to receive income under Gift Aid from its contributors and distribute these funds at the discretion of the Trustees, and on the recommendation of the contributor to Charitable causes supported by the Trustees. The Trust has now transferred its activities to Impact Giving (UK) Trust and is in process of closing down. No applications for funding will be considered.

FOSGS helps to develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school. We organise fundraising events which maintain the school's links with the local community and enable us to fund the provision of equipment which supports the school and advances the education of the pupils.

Maintains and provides, for general community use, Balcombe Parish room.
