Maintaining the Village Pavilion

We provide social activities in which the disabled compete with able bodied on equal terms. We take trips out-go for meals. Members decide what programme they wish to follow by putting suggestions forward for various activities. For example card making-planting up containers.

The Charity's current activity focusses upon the commissioning of new choral music to be sung in churches. The Trustees are developing plans to advance the education and development of young people both in the study and performance of choral music, as well for the general education and development of young people from socially or economically deprived communities.

We had a varied programme of talks on The Suffragettes, a Victorian Nurse (and scurrilous gossip), SS Great Britain and Unravelling the Secrets of Forged Signatures. Christmas songs were enjoyed - along with mince pies, and we all enjoyed painting on silk. Along with our meeting on Resolutions and our AGM plus a couple of quizes, we also managed monthly walks and Book Group.

PROVIDING A GOOD NEIGHBOUR SERVICE FOR PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. THIS MAINLY INVOLVES PROVIDING TRANSPORT FOR OLDER PEOPLE TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS WHERE THEY EITHER HAVE NO TRANSPORT OF THEIR OWN OR IF PUBLIC SERVICES ARE NOT AVAILABLE. WE ALSO OFFER ASSISTANCE FOR SOME NON MEDICAL JOURNIES IF REQUIRED.

Grants to local school & individuals

Stewardship of Teffont Reading Room for the benefit of the village as a whole.

Raise money for the school by putting on events such as family discos and social evenings, Christmas Glitter Ball, school discos, sponsored walks/runs, cake bakes and Christmas Fayres.

Parent, Teacher, Friends Association to organise fundraising events for the benefit of St Thomas a Becket Primary School.

To foster and encourage Amateur Boxing in the Bristol and West Country via Western Counties ABA we organise 3 or 4 Amateur Boxing Tournaments with dinner per year. Funds are raised through ticket sales, raffles and auctions during each event.

We are an independent, voluntary, non profit charity that supports The Spires Cleft Centre at Salisbury District Hospital and The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and the patients and their families who are treated there. With your help every penny and effort goes to help the Spires Cleft Team, along with a multitude of activities and items for all local cleft children and their families.

Our charity work between our members of Shaftesbury, Lindlar in Germany and Brionne in France in cultural and education exchange.

School council raises funds on an annual basis for their chosen charity. Money is raised via mufti days and other special events put on by students.
