Sackville College is a beautiful Jacobean almshouse which provides accommodation for local elderly people of limited means. The flats are comfortable, warm, safe and secure. There is a strong community spirit. The college is not supported by the Government and relies on fundraising events, visitors, donations and a very low weekly charge for its income.

The Friends of Brodetsky raises funds to support and enhance educational activities at Brodetsky Primary School, Leeds. Rehoming dogs who have been abandoned or abused from both the UK and abroad and rehoming them with new families/people on a permanent basis. We look after them at our kennel facility and then actively seek new owners for their forever homes. We act purely for non profit and all fund raising etc is used to run the kennels and pay for the transport of the dogs, vet bills, food, and general welfare.

We are now actively fundraising for two major projects to benefit the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. The first is to complete the new station building, after the successful completion of Phase 1, the new museum and shop. We are also financing the provision of a new steam shed at the railway.

We are a community Pre-school and we are allowed to cater for 23 children per morning session between 8.20/9.00/11.45 - 12.00/2.45pm term-time only. We receive 15 hours funding for our three years olds from the Government and now receive funding for 10 hours for some two year olds. Rely on Fund-raising. We operate, adhere the guidedance of Pre-school learning Alliance with joint Policies.

Holding activities for the local community, dances,quizes,the WI, talks, film shows etc and the hall is used a number of evenings for badminton. The hall is also hired for private functions i.e. birthday parties, weddings, cubs etc. We fund raise to keep the hall in good state of repair by doing jumble sales, race nights, dances etc.
