The Symphony was formed in 1946 and provides the opportunity, both as performers and audience, for the people of Dartford and the surrounding area to enjoy music making of a high standard. Based the Mick Jagger Centre, the DSO continues to take music to the rural communities, is involved in music education projects, commissions new works. The DSO runs an annual Dartford Young Musician competition.
