The League of Friendship operates the Howlands Community Hub, which is open 5 days a week for its members, who are people with a wide range of disabilities. While it is important as a social venue, the main work of the Centre is to provide facilities and instruction in various arts and crafts. To that end the League employs 2 part-time teachers one of whom is an established local artist.
