The society's aims are to encourage the conservation of the best of the architectural features of Sutton Coldfield, encourage the development of the highest quality of new buildings, and minimise the heavy noise levels of roads in the town centre.

Primary aim is to care for the beauty, history and character of Tiverton Town and its environs. Motto - Watch & Ward. Organise range of lectures, information plaques, heritage walks and social activities. Keep in close touch with the Town, Mid Devon District and Devon County Councils. Registered with Civic Trust and Outer SW Federation of Civic Societies and member of Devon Conservation Forum.

The Windlesham Society currently provides a range of community activities such as planning issues, Christmas and other events, and represents members views in accordance with the constitution.

Grant making to specialist orginisations working on Climate Change. The trust does not suggest making applications unless asked by the trust. (Please note the trust has since April 2015 changed focus away from special education and community development, and may not respond to requests unless a request has been asked for by the trust)

The Society is a civic society which seeks to secure the protection and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the Newbury area. It promotes high standards of planning and architecture and is frequently consulted by developers and the local planning authority. A regular newsletter is published and events including lectures, town walks and Heritage Open Days are organised.

By monthly meetings, checking weekly planning lists, representation at local enquiries, reporting on council meetings, publishing a newsletter on local issues.

Charity is currently in dormancy. Normal area of work is consultancy, research, training, community development on issues around women and the built environment.
