As a scout group we actively encourage adventurous activity, self reliance and development of good citizenship to a large mixed membership. Through these activities we also educate youngsters in environmental conservation and develop their spiritual and cultural awareness within the policies and objectives of the UK Scout Association.

Friends of Riverside Primary School organises fun, family friendly and community events in order to raise funds for Riverside Primary School.

Paddle Peak cleans and cares for the River Derwent in Derbyshire and protects its wildlife through running regular volunteer river cleans. Our charity also inspires and enables local young people to try and then to take up paddlesports. We run come and try paddling sessions on the Cromford Canal and have a group of local children that we take paddling every week.

To promote and foster the study of all branches of natural history and add to existing knowledge, both generally and regarding Wharfedale in particular. To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

We organise work days to maintain and improve the nature reserve, check the site regularly for issues and monitor wildlife. We also hold events on site, fund raise and carry out projects, ensure the upkeep of the site, and promote our activities in the local area and online.

The charity cares for the Unstead Wetland Nature Reserve in Surrey for the benefit of both its wildlife and the general public. Through volunteer action, the Group restores, develops and maintains diverse habitats for the benefit of wildlife. It provides visitor facilities and information about the Reserve and its wildlife to create an educational and recreational resource.

Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of pupils/ Activities carried out in 2010/11 included our very successful Christmas bazaar, Film Nights, Family Disco, Cake sales, Ice Lolly Sales, Recycling bag to school, Abel and Cole fruit sales.
