Environment Charities

We link business donors with community needs. As pioneers of corporate social responsibility, funded and managed by our business supporters, we deliver help in cash or in kind, by volunteering and by practical fieldwork, addressing appeals from all ages, all abilities. We arrange recycling/re-use of many office and domestic items.

The education of the public in general and more specifically the residents of and visitors to the County of North Yorkshire, particularly the area known as the Yorkshire Dales in the subjects of archaeology, history, geology and the natural environment in order to promote a better understanding and management of that local heritage.

SWWAG provide green open spaces for the benefit of the local community, encouraging local people to appreciate and learn about the natural environment. The management focus is to encourage the well being of a diverse range of flora and fauna. Fund raising initiatives and grant applications are promoted in order to finance activities.

To promote horticulture and floriculture for the benefit of the public generally and in particular those who live in or visit Skipton by the provision of floral displays, shrubs and landscapes in places visible to the public and by the promotion of gardening competitions, conservation of the environment and community involvement.

To manage and maintain Burgh by Sands village Green and Wildlife Area as a sustainable local facility. To encourage use of the village Green and Wildlife Area by local communities for recreation, leisure and educational activity.

We work with community-based organisations mainly in the slums of developing cities, where we empower them through social enterprising means by working with them to establish innovative projects especially in areas of sustainable waste management (recycling and re-use) and renewable energy technologies.Currently we work in Kenya and Peterborough, UK

Promoting the provision of facilities for recreation within Collings Park with the object of improving the life of local residents.Promoting the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of Collings Park.Advancing the education of the public by providing facilities and opportunities within Collings Park for learning about the natural environment.

Raise funds by providing talks and attending events to raise awareness of Hedgehogs and other biodiversity issues. Funds raised are used to support local Hedgehog Rescues.

The Aluna Foundation is founded to deliver Aluna and promote environmental sustainability, renewable technologies and intercultural dialogue. It will do this through Aluna - the world's first tidal powered Moon Clock, a zero carbon landmark that unites art, culture, science and the environment - and its associated cultural and educational education programmes for community and visitors alike.

NFBR promotes biological recording in the UK and also promotes its importance for the wellbeing of the UK's biodiversity and the people who live and work in the UK.To serve these aims NFBR organises conferences and other meetings to bring together recorders and the users of biological records, to share information and ideas, exchange best practice and agree priorities for the future.

Ail Gyfle is a charitable social enterprise that produces home and garden furniture and craft from recycled pallets and other discarded items. We offer a safe context for those on the margins to learn life skills alongside Open College Network qualifications in Confidence building, substance misuse, Health and Safety at work, wood working, recycling and building a work portfolio.

Charity supports several charitable organisations involved with old and young people, disabilities, the arts, wildlife conservation, animal welfare

The object of the charity is to protect, conserve and improve the wildlife and natural environment of Comeytrowe pond for the public benefit.

As well as providing grants to deserving causes within our community and the Lions District and Multiple District the Lions Club of Leek undertake a number of community service projects :-Christmas lunch for members of the Leek Stroke Club, Spectacle Recycling. Message in a Bottle, Message in a Wallet, In Case of Emergency Labels and Santa Duties

Maintenance of unique two storey Georgian Dovecote open every day free providing local heritage displays and small not for profit community shop, free car park, Englands oldest AA telephone kiosk and riverside picnic area. All maintained by volunteers. Trust does not have sufficient resources to provide grants.

(A) To advance the study and science of ornithology and (B) Promote the conservation of local and national avifauna and flora and the study of other branches of natural history.

The charity works with members, volunteers and partners to protect and enhance the natural Space that is Hell Wath. Activities include hedgerow maintenance and planting, invasive species removal, habitat maintenance and development (such as ponds, scrub and grasslands), monitoring of butterflies, trees, bats and wildflowers, wildflower cultivation and planting as well as maintenance tasks .

The Root provides practical support to a local community. It provides a range of activities including football tournaments, lunchtime clubs for older people, food hampers and a range of workshops for young people. We encourage communities in the UK to recycle and give a range of items that are regularly sent out in barrels to Kenya to benefit the community.

An educational centre specialising in the neighbouring Beacon Hill Local Nature Reserve's flora and fauna, and the Beachy Head West Marine Conservation Zone's marine life by utilising an indoor & outdoor classroom providing workshops and interactive displays supporting and promoting biodiversity conservation, wildlife habitat protection, archaeology, heritage and the arts.

MANAGEMENT OF THE MEADOWS SURROUNDING THELNETHAM CHURCH INCLUDING TREES, HEDGES AND WILDLIFE HABITAT.

Monthly meetings for ladies of all ages with speakers about diversified subjects (eg ecology, nature, antiques, climate change etc). Fund raising for less fortunate women of the world. Outings to stately homes and gardens. Walking, scrabble, poetry, craft groups within our WI.
