Environment Charities

The charity owns 45 acres of common land in the parish of Brentor, West Devon. Half the area is managed as very low input grassland. Biodiversity surveys of this lowland heath have identified sites of national significance and targeted species (including mud snails and fritillary butterflies) for management. Volunteer working parties aid with coppicing, gorse & bracken control and tree planting

BEN is established to promote full ethnic participation in the built and natural environment. BEN works to integrate social, cultural and environmental concerns in the context of sustainable development. We work across diverse sectors. Our current themes integrate the areas of natural environment, the built environment, heritage, social justice, health and housing.

Conserving and upgrading BAILEY HILL PARK, for the people of Mold, and Flintshire, and the surrounding area: encouraging provision of recreational facilities; conservation of the physical and natural environment (including biodiversity, landscape features and the scheduled ancient monument); respecting the site's history, and advancing public education through structured educational programmes.

BrueCREW's aim is to restore the natural balance of Bruton's stretch of the river Brue as a haven for wildlife, and to promote our riverside as somewhere relaxing to spend time with nature. We will work to connect Bruton's historic town centre with footpaths upstream and downstream to enhance the river that gave Bruton its name, for the enjoyment of everyone who lives in or visits our town.

Support to museums services

Our activities include to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in the village of Polperro, Cornwall and its environs for the benefit of anyone who has an emotional, social or economic connection. We also aim to advance the education of the people connected with Polperro regarding the aims and objectives of PEG.

The Okement Rivers Improvement Group (ORIG) is a voluntary organisation which undertakes activities to conserve the wildlife and amenity value of the two rivers. East and West Okement rivers. Environmental/Heritage projects include reinstatement of weir to help migratory fish. Partnerships with environment agency and West Country Rivers Trust. The public assist with river corridor litter pick ups.

Training of young people in the use of computers and the internet.Donation of educational materials to schools.Setting up computer rooms for schools.The area of operation of the charity is Africa with emphasis on Ghana, West Africa at the moment.Recycling of electronic goods.

The Queen Elizabeth Parks Project is dedicated to giving people the opportunity to become involved in conservation of the wildlife and supporting Rangers who work in protected areas. Our work focusses upon the Queen Elizabeth Country, UK and the Queen Elizabeth National Uganda, but is not exclusive to these sites.

The objects of the charity are:a) For the public benefit, the preservation, conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment and biodiversity of St John's Wood and St Helena's Church to encourage others to engage with, understand, enjoy and protect the woodland and church site.b) in pursuance of the above, to advance the education of the public.

We raise awareness of practical issues related to climate change, particularly renewable energy, transport and textiles - including repairing clothes at the Telford Repair Cafe. We organise events to encourage local people to grow their own food from seed-saving to using the produce.

Working in Retford and the surrounding area, we work to conserve and preserve the hedgehog species by:a) providing first aid, treatment, and rehabilitation to sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs with the aim of releasing them back into the wild wherever possibleb) educating the public about the care, conservation and habitat of hedgehogs.

We combat poverty by supporting income generation through beekeeping. We provide hives, training and equipment, manufactured locally, to give communities the ability to create businesses around the sale of honey and other hive products, and to integrate beekeeping into current agricultural practices to maximise crop pollination and increase yields.

Fundraising for the school. Bakes sales, serving refreshments, organising events such as table top sales, firework night, quiz night, Summer & Christmas fair, Raffles, Christmas cards. Recycling old uniforms.

PlayGROUND delivers art, design, horticultural, ecology projects and exhibitions to promote learning, appreciation, engagement and improvement of the natural environment. It works with communities, organisations and local authorities to promote sustainability, conservation, reclamation and the inclusion of nature in everyday living.

For the public benefit of the people in the community of Flora Tristan in Peru, and its surrounding areas. To relieve poverty, in particular by advancing education through a range of educational programmes and school support. To preserve, protect and improve health, in particular by providing medical and dental checks, basic hygiene and health awareness classes.

Promotion of research into agricultural, environmental, ecological and silvicultural activities and the promotion of conservation of flora and fauna in their natural state for public benefit.

Promoting and supporting the study, conservation and propagation of native English species of flora and fauna. Supporting habitat conservation and development as well as more general initiatives to protect the natural environment.

Manage a community green space & promote community spirit.The grass and the trees on the park are maintained for people and wildlife.Children play games and sports on the park, mostly these are informal helping socialisation.There are a series of social activities organised which local people attend.The informal play and the organised activities all help in building a community.
