We have received capital from the grant of easements across a common and will use the interest to help maintain our play and recreation areas. Capital was invested in 3 year bond with UTB on 12 November 2019, on advice from Mr P. Harper (FMifa). This matured in November 2022. Financial advice was taken again, and the bond plus proceeds were re-invested in a 2 year bond paying 4.2 %.

Social & sporting activities.

Established in 1922 to ensure the continuing provision of sports and recreation grounds.

The provision and maintenance of a village hall and recreation ground for the use of the inhabitants of Britwell Salome and the neighbourhood thereof, without distinction of political, religious and other opinions, including the use for meetings, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the life conditions of those inhabitants.

Children's Recreation and Play

Provides buildings/facilities/open space for children, the elderley and the general public

Annually trustees give Bibles to Dean school leavers. The trust leases its playing field to Cumbria CC for Dean school's use. An annual loan repayment is made for land under Dean school/community sports/arts hall, the use of which benefits children's physical & social education. Annually trustees pay into Carlisle Diocesan Barchester Scheme to aid Dean school's v aided status.

Provision and maintenance of a playing field for recreation or other leisure time activity for the benefit of the general public in the parish of Marhamchurch with the objects of improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants.

Crown Green Bowling and all 2 weather tennis courts for all ages

We have provided and maintained a hall which has been regularly used, such as by the village Sunshine Club (the over 60s), activities for young people run by North Copeland Youth Partnership, and various functions like wedding receptions and bithday parties. The hall is also used by the Parish Council and the County Council for meetings.
