Management of Box Village Hall.

The provision and maintenance of a village hall for use by the residents of Leadenham and neighbouring villages.

With regard to public benefit requirement the object of our charity is to provide and maintain a village hall for the use of the parish inhabitants. During the past year we have hosted our annual art show, antiques roadshow, private parties, dances, quiz nights, horticultural shows, amateur dramatic productions, dance an exercise classes, short mat bowls, badminton and as a polling station.

A community hall plus activities field, available to all, regardless of beliefs, race, creed or orientation.

To maintain the village hall and to provide educational recreational and leisure facilities for the local community.

The aim of the charity is to improve the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Odcombe and its surrounding area by providing a suitable venue for meetings, lectures, classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure such as whist, short mat bowls, keep fit, football, karate, walkers, sewing, tea dances, luncheons, suppers and quiz nights.

Use of hall facilities (including bar) by local sports clubs and other community groups and charities.

The Memorial Village Hall is used by all local groups such as the, Skittles teams, Bowls Club, Church, Private parties and is a Polling Station. It is in the centre of village and is the designated Emergency Shelter. There are disabled facilities which include a ramp and a toilet. There are also baby changing facilities.

The Village Hall serves the needs of the catchment area and is used regularly by the Parish Council, Church, Flicks in the Sticks, an annual live show sponsored by Arts Alive and a number of local groups. The licence for all the activities taking place in the Village Hall has been issued by Herefordshire Council.

The charity manages the village hall, a recreation ground which includes a large play area for children and a sports field used by local football and cricket teams. The hall has a stage and lighting and is used by activity groups of all ages.

The Village Hall is used as a community centre by the Parish Council, Pilates, Yoga and other activities. It is also used as a Polling Station when needed. The hall has a fully equipped kitchen, disabled toilet and access, the floor is carpeted and there is a good heating system, upgrading the hall is ongoing.The condition of the roof continues to cause concern.

Grove Green Community Hall based in Grove Green Maidstone is available for hire by local people, particularly in Grove Green, Weavering and Bearsted Park. There are regular events held including a pre-school nursery 5 mornings a week, indoor bowls, Scottish Dancing, Karate, Brownies and Rainbows.

Preserves and maintains the village hall and adjoining playground for communal use

Under our Deed, the property is held on Trust for use by the inhabitants of Alderholt and neighbouring villages, without distinction of sex, religious, political or other opinions, and in particular, for use for meetings, classes or other forms of recreation and leisure time activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
