The Baxter Hall Charity manages a community hall for the benefit of the local community. Local organisations and individuals can hire the hall including social, educational and interest groups. The Lower Hall is used for a playgroup (starting September 2021).

This is a small registered charity that serves the Cotswold village of Bibury. The charity was born in 1898 when several separate local charities were combined. Our main responsibility now is to preserve Bibury Village Hall, and keep it at the heart of village life. For this reason, we have adopted the working name Bibury Village Hall Trust. There is also a small welfare trust within the charity.

To provide the community with a premises whereby activities including social, recreational and educational can take place.

As a management committee our function is to maintain and manage the Dufton Village Hall as a resource for the villagers of Dufton and environs. In order to be able to maintain the hall, we also are involved in organising social events with the purpose of raising funds to maintain the hall.

Lamerton Parish Hall Committee as a charity is responsible for the day to day running of the Parish Hall, this is funded by hall hire fees, any extra requirements are funded by fund raising activities. The financial year 2011/12 was the fifth full year of operation of our new hall. We have had a very successful year.

In the trust document it states that the village hall is for the use of the inhabitants of Kibworth and the neighbourhood for use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. The committee is endeavouring to run the hall to comply with this statement.

Outbuildings are completed and work is underway to take down the old outbuilding. Roof tiles and bricks are being sold.Application started for new floor in main hall and window repair.Unfortunately preschool is closing permanently at end of July 2023.
