The charity manages and maintains the hall as a community asset for use by the residents of Spencers Wood. The provision and maintenance of the Village Hall and annexe for use by the inhabitants of St Mary Cray and the neighbourhood. Without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for meetings, lectures and classes, and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving life for the said.

Shardlow Village Hall serves as a hub for community activity, hosting a diverse range of events, meetings and activities. The Trust owns, maintains and manages the hiring of Peopleton Village Hall and the adjacent playing field and playground. It organises occasional fundraising events for the benefit of villagers.
