THE PROVISION OF SOCIAL AMENITIES AND ENTERTAINMENTS FOR PATIENTS AND NURSING STAFF OF THE NEATH HOSPITALS.THE CHARITY UNDERTAKES A WIDE RANGE OF FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND ACTS AS AN ORGANISATION FOR RECEIVING DONATIONS. FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED ACCORDING TO NEED AND DECIDED UPON AT MONTHLY EXECUTIVE MEETINGS.

A number of fund raising activities are undertaken, including a Fete, Coffee Mornings, Concerts,Quizs, receipt of donations and bequests,maintenance and leasing a Property,an annual Draw, Bingo,Flag days,sponsored walks etc.Funding is then allocated for the benefit of Patients of the local Bodmin Hospital.

The League of Friends is an organisation that helps to raise funds for equipment and ammenities for the patients and staff, over and above the annual budget of the hospital and occasionally the three doctors surgeries that support the hospital. The Charity are affiliated to the national body known as ATTEND who have been enhancing health and social care since 1948.

The League receives good financial support from individual businesses and local organisations such as the local Rotary Clubs, churches, etc. This means regular updating and purchase of additional major equipment has taken place. Since the new hospital was opened in 2004 in excess of £1,000,000 has been raised, which has funded some major pieces of equipment as well as many smaller items.

Our charity purchases equipment for medical use at the medical centre and its small operating theatre for the benefit of patients covered by our surgery. None of this equipment would be provided by the local health trust or any other public body. Our charity also upgrades and replaces items of equipment as needed within our financial limits. Friends of Mengo are partners with Mengo Hospital, Kampala, Uganda Republic. Through donations, advice, visits, gifts and prayer, our partnership aims to extend our involvement with all those who are treated, work, or are trained at the hospital. Funds are raised from generous donors, largely in the UK, and allocation is decided through close communication between the committee and Mengo SLT.

WE ARE A HOSPITAL LEAGUE OF FRIENDS. WE RAISE FUNDS MAINLY THROUGH A SHOP SELLING DONATED SECOND HAND ITEMS (ALL STAFFED VOLUNTARILY), AND SUPPORT THE TYRELL HOSPITAL PATIENTS OR OUTPATIENTS AND THOSE ATTENDING ANY LOCAL CLINICS BY PROVIDING EQUIPMENT/ITEMS FUNDING PROJECTS OR TRAINING.

We financially support the NHS run Whitworth Hospital (Community Hospital) and Orchard Cottage (Short Break Residential Unit for people with Learning Disability), both in Darley Dale, Matlock, Derbyshire. Items of equipment and larger projects such as car parking and departmental refurbishments over and above those supplied by the NHS are funded by us through legacies and donations received.

The object of the League is to support the charitable work of the Clevedon Hospital. The Charity supplements the service provided by the hospital for the health, welfare and comfort of the patients therein and in the community, by the provision of facilities, building and equipment which may be required for the treatment of patients, or for the efficient running of the hospital.

Aiding the wellbeing of babies and mothers in the special care baby unit of the the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, by provision of equipment and materials that otherwise may not be available.
