Health Charities That specialise in Hospital

The Friends of St Luke's Hospital offer a guiding service for visitors to the hospital, as well as raising funds from the proceeds of two coffee shops on the hospital premises and through donations to benefit all at the hospital. From the funds raised, the charity is able to help doctors or hospital departments obtain items that would not normally be available through normal NHS funding.

The Laughter Specialists Charitable Trust funds programmes of specially trained entertainers to visit sick children and vulnerable adults in hospital and those with special needs calling on their training and experience and using their artistic and entertainment skills to bring them laughter and fun thereby improving their well being. Other activities include talks and training workshops.

The objects of the charity are to relieve the distress and suffering of patients, particularly children, attending or admitted to accident and emergency units at hospitals, or the associated emergency services, by providing such equipment, facilities and amenities which are not normally provided by the statutory authorities.

The objects of the Charity are to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the residents in North Bucks and to advance education, protect and preserve health and relieve poverty, sickness and distress. The Charity has- a hospital car service- an adult carers group- a young carers group - A ex carers group for people alone.- Buckingham AED Project.-Men in Sheds Buckingham.

Hosting fund raising evenings and entering charitable events to raise funds for the Balrampur Medical Institute & Research Centre in India.

To relieve the suffering of animals in need of care & attention primarily hedgehogs and other UK wildlife. In particular to provide and maintain rescue homes or other activities for the reception care and treatment of orphaned, injured, ill or abandoned animals, with the aim of returning any wild animals to their natural environment and any domestic to a suitable home.

We provide accommodation for qualifying people within a radius of fifteen miles of The Hospital. We have six single occupancy almshouses and two family cottages, providing much needed homes for old and young alike, in an area with high rental and ownership costs. We don not provide medical attention or any other care.

To maintain the almshouse and provide support for the residents.

Runs charity shop/within Northwick Park Hospital. Draws commission from other traders in adjacent area. Provides cash for equipment/comfort to benefit patients of the hospital.

Supports the work of the Mothers Union worldwide, but operates mainly with the Diocese of Liverpool, providing support to families, children, young people and older people within the area.Operating within the community, schools, hospitals and prisons to support those in need.

To contribute to Hospital & Medical Facilities in Overseas & Developing countries.

Relieve of patients and former patients of the Hospital and other invalids in the commmunity

Providing food and clothing to the homeless and impoverished. Providing needed medical equipment to hospitals to give care to the sick.

Gives Grants, Aids LCHS with building costs

Under the Statutory Instrument of 1983 and Scheme Amendment of 1996, the provision of well maintained almshouse accommodation for the relief of needy or disabled persons who have served in the; Royal Navy, Royal Marines, WRNS QARNNS, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Merchant Navy, Army, Royal Air Force or has been employed in HM Dockyards on the construction, maintenance, refitting or repair of HM Ships.

The provision of facilities and amenities to patients and staff of UCLH Foundation Trust hospitals in addition to those funded by the NHS.

Daisy Chains IW supports Isle of Wight children and their families when a child has been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, long term health problem or disability this includes premature babies who need to travel to mainland hospitals for treatment/care or therapy, we also help with any costs associated with the treatment/illness/disability and also pay for any equipment or family support.

To relieve sickness and protect public health by the provision of transport for urgently needed blood, drugs, human tissues and other medical requirements between hospitals,blood transfusion banks and other healthcare facilities.To support human life by providing a free of charge transportation service to our local NHS and to other organisations with objectives similar to ours.

Since 1998Advocacy First helps thousands of people from all walks of life. Our service is free and confidential We provide confidential advocacy for patients in hospital, empowering them to leave hospital to a location and way living of their choice. We bridge the gaps in service for patients and work together with other organisations in the area. We listen to clients issues and work for them.

Samaritans provides emotional support 24 hours a day by telephone, personal visit, email, text and letter through its branch network. This includes outreach activity at festivals, in prisons, hospitals, schools and with homeless people. Samaritans also promotes a better understanding in society of suicide. This branch focusses on East Surrey and the surrounding area.
