ASCN UK (2013) provides an educational forum for nurses delivering specialist health-care to individuals with a Colorectal / Urological stoma. This is delivered through an Annual Conference, Project Working Groups, Study Days and Web- Page which supports sharing clinical expertise and development of evidence-based practice.Educational grants are available for support with education and research.

Gateway Church meets for worship and teaching at the Gateway Centre. It also runs activities for the local community such as: drop-in cafe for over 65's, parent & toddler groups, an after-school club, community nursing service, debt advice services & the distribution of food from York Foodbank. The Centre also houses the offices of different charities whose work supports the local community.

Mount Elim Evangelical Church undertakes the following religious activities and services to the local community: - Sunday services (morning & evening)- Sunday school (during morning service)- Weekly Bible study meetings for ladies & men's groups- Weekly meeting for Bible teachings & prayer- Weekly mother and toddler group- Visiting the local community e.g. nursing homes, hospitals etc

Healing Little Hearts sends teams of Doctors and Nurses to a Hospital from all over the world to developing countries of the world to perform heart surgery and other types of paediatric surgery on children upto 18 years .The charity raises money here in the UK to fund the travel and stay of the teams.The team do not charge for their services. and all team members take annual leave for the trips

The Eaton Fund provides small grants to help women in hardship, and artists and nurses. Our grants are given to people living in the UK.

Community Outreach - Helping homeless people with food, accommodation and clothing. We are focusing on helping people in their homes by providing domiciliary care. We have a charity shop that also helps volunteers with special needs gain skills. We help look after widows and orphans in Zambia and other parts of Africa. We are currently building a nursing home in Zambia.

The Charlie & Carter Foundation, based in South Shields, provides financial support to the parents of seriously ill children with life limiting conditions which require 24 hour nursing care or specialist nursing facilities. PACT house provides accommodation for use by families whilst a child is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Helping prostate cancer suffers, by raising funds for new innovative equipment and treatment, centre funded specialist nurses, offering volunteer support and befriending & raising local awareness of the disease in local men.
