The Solace Charity has three main objections These are: 1. To advance the awareness / education of the public, 2. To relieve the emotional, social and practical stress of people and that of their families, 3. Ganga Prem Hospice is a spiritually-oriented charity whose aim is to work with and for terminally ill cancer patients. We provide medical, social, emotional and spiritual support for individuals and their loved ones as they face cancer and in their ongoing grief.Our current project is the construction of a fully equipped hospice in Rishikesh, North India, on the bank of the Holy River Ganga.

We work in Purbeck, Dorset to help people who are terminally ill. We fund practical assistance for people in the care of Purbeck Primary Care Network who have been identified as needing items, services or facilities to ease their suffering and provide comfort. If these things are not normally provided by the statutory authorities, the healthcare professional can approach us for assistance.

Working with students with disabilities to develop skills and confidence to move to self employment. We also work with schools to encourage grow your own fruit and veg, local colleges and communityThe woods are used for people with end of life illness to spend time and people from care homes are also welcomed to spend time here either sitting and enjoying the views or doing a spot of gardening.

Grant making charity making donations to charities covering research into causes and treatment of cancer,medical care and comfort for the terminally ill etc

We have held or sanctioned events to raise income (eg 18k walk to Great Ormond Street Hospital). We have provided funds for Dominic Thompson's research (Neuro Surgeon at Great Ormond Street) and paid for a terminally ill teenager's trip to New York (via The Dream Factory). We are in the process of producing a guide to help families who have a child diagnosed with Cancer and a 2nd walk is planned.

Work with the helpless,homeless and needy in the Reading Area as well as parish visits to the sick,lonely,terminally ill and bereaved. Donations were made to other Charity Organisations with similar objects as well as to individuals.

A SOCIETY TO SUPPORT AND BUILD RESEARCH CAPACITY IN PALLIATIVE AND END OF LIFE CARE RESEARCH THROUGH THE PROVISION OF WORKSHOPS, CONFERENCES, EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND BURSARIES

We engage in training and mentoring of palliative care personnel (doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, etc) working in hospital and home-care based pc services in countries defined as 'resource-limited' - mainly in Africa and Asia. Our activities are normally funded by larger charitable organisations, such as Tearfund, Afrox, Rotary International.

TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT GOOD HEALTH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, RELATING TO INHERITED HEART CONDITIONS AND IN PARTICULAR ARRYTHMOGENIC CARDIOMYOPATHY BY FUNDING RESEARCH PROJECTS, SUCH PROJECTS CAN BE DIAGNOSTIC, CURATIVE, THERAPEUTIC OR PALLIATIVE IN NATURE AND TO ENSURE THE PUBLICATION OF THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
