The Stroke Club will respond, where possible, to support the specific requests of applicants to the trust who cannot afford disability aids in their homes.

Mercy Foundation Trust is a UK based charity that promotes General Health and well being through Free health promotion Seminars and Workshops aimed at preventing diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, thereby reducing the incidence of strokes and heart attacks. Most of our volunteers are healthcare professionals who would give free professional advice at the workshops.

Provide support, friendship and comfort by way of social activities for people who have suffered a stroke or strokes within the area of the Borough of Southend-on-Sea.

The Charity exists to run the Adur and Hove Stroke Club. This club is run exclusively by volunteers and meets once a week on Friday afternoons to provide a social opportunity to its members who have suffered a stroke and may otherwise be housebound. The club also provides refreshments and is able to offer transport and excercise to those members who wish to take advantage of this facility.

To provide a regular peer support meeting place for those who have suffered stroke, and their carers, in a friendly non-pressured space.

CARE, WELFARE AND GENERAL WATCH OVER STROKE VICTIMS - THIS INVOLVES, NORMALLY, A WEEKLY MEETING, OUTINGS, ENTERTAINMENT AND OCCASIONAL OCCUPATIONAL PROJECTS.

Provides part day care for stroke sufferers, in a friendly stimulating atmosphere. Regular outings, lunches, exercise sessions, advice sessions, opportunities to mix with other sufferers.

Providing support to stroke survivors and their families. Meeting every other week on Tuesday for raffles, bingo, cards, tea & coffee & a chat.

Provision of scoial facilities for members and carers

Sickle Cell and Young Stroke Survivors support the social and psychological needs of children and young people living with Sickle Cell disease and childhood Stroke in the UK. We proactively address the day-to-day needs of the children and their families to reduce isolation. We work mainly in England and are keen to provide free medical treatment and drugs to children in Africa.

Leek Stroke Club provides a support network for victims of stroke and their families. Giving a stimulating environment to build confidence and return to previous levels of social inclusion.

To assist in the treatment and care of people suffering from Long-Term Conditions by providing appropriate facilities, equipment and services that promote health and independence. We offer clients with LTC's Hydrotherapy services such as Aquafit and Aquarobics. Hydrotherapy is commonly used to support clients recovering from conditions including joint replacements, fibromyalgia, arthritis & stroke

Charity works in the area of Training, research and development of rehabilitation services in Madagascar. This improves the medical care of people with long term neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, amputee rehabilitation etc. The charity also envisages to run a diploma program in rehabilitation medicine in collaboration in Antananarivo University.

Stroke Club UK is a support group run by stroke survivors, for stroke survivors, who are young at heart and want to move on with their lives. We are dedicated to getting stroke victims, active and back into the community by using peer support from people who understand because they've been there. 'Empathy' not 'tea and sympathy'. We do not offer medical, legal or financial advice.

The main focus of the Group is to improve and/or maintain communication skills for our members and our meetings include exercises and activities to assist in this.

Our charity looks after stroke patients and their carers. When people come out of hospital after stroke once their needs have been assessed by social services and provided with all necessary equipment they are left entirely on their own. This means that because of their disabilities they are mainly confined to their home. We endeavour to bring them back socially into the real world.

The Charity operates throughout England and Wales, India, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Activities include: Cancer Research, British Hear Foundation, National Autistics Society, The Stroke association and various other charities.

Guest speakers, entertainers, quizzes, bingo at monthly meetings. Additional days out for coach trips to places of interest and visits out for lunches and teas aimed at improving the quality of life socially for both stroke sufferers and their carers.

As well as providing grants to deserving causes within our community and the Lions District and Multiple District the Lions Club of Leek undertake a number of community service projects :-Christmas lunch for members of the Leek Stroke Club, Spectacle Recycling.
