Health Charities That specialise in Strokes

To preserve and protect the health of those affected by a stroke and/or a brain injury by providing grants to charities and other organisations to support programmes and activities that assist their brain injury recovery and treatment.

The relief of persons who have suffered a stroke; by holding regular weekly meetings for members and providing entertainment, therapy (speech, games, art, craft and exercise), social enjoyment, celebratory events, outings and excursions; also holiday vacation assistance and carer relief in special circumstances.

Getting members out of their home for a time for talking, singing, shopping, going out on day trips, holidays, pantomimes pub meals.Encouraging and assisting the members to carry out their hobbies and employing the skills of a physiotherapist to advise our group on the best way to help the members to get physically fitter.

We are an Inner Wheel Charity. We collect money at various events and have donated funds to Diabetes UK, Stroke Assoc., Water Aid, Send A Cow, Kids for Kids , Guidepost Trust, Age UK, Shelterbox and similar organisations, These organisations contact us from time to time and our committee makes a judgement as to how much we should give

Support & social group for persons under the age of 65 who have suffered a Stroke, and their families and carers. Telephone/email advice and support.Monthly social meetings, outings and events, for group members.We also have occasional input into the development of stroke medical treatments and rehabilitation.

The charity is currently raising funds to enable the charitable activities to be undertaken. To date, no charitable activities have been undertaken.

Ashbourne & District Stroke Support Club offers invaluable support to stroke victims & their carers. The club helps people during the recovery period and through the following months and years.

Twice monthly meeting with a variety of subjects:- speakers, slide shows, choirs and outings to places of interest. We help members to keep abreast of new ideas and legislation.

To provide a support club for people in and around Esher who are recovering from a stroke. Weekly meetings with various activities and an opportunity to meet similarly affected people and form a support network.

Arley Stroke Club meets on Mondays from about 10am to 3pm. Our membership is drawn from residents of North Warwickshire, and surrounding areas who have suffered stroke.We provide gentle exercise and stimulation according to the needs of members along with friendship, companionship, and a break for their carers; also games and other activities including outings and when possible an annual holiday.

The charity aims to support local charities within Warwickshire and surrounding areas by donating funds which were given by the founder.

The Style For Stroke Foundation assists in the treatment and care of persons suffering from mental or physical illness caused by a strokes or in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness. STROKE ACTION PROVIDES INFORMATION, ADVICE AND SUPPORT TO STROKE SURVIVORS AND THEIR CARERS. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING STROKE PREVENTION SERVICES, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, TIME OUT SERVICE TO CARERS AND A SOCIAL STROKE SUPPORT CLUB.

The charity is currently inactive.When it runs it provides a specialist exercise service for individuals with neurological conditions . The group operates from the with the University of Birmingham. It runs once a week on a Wednesday within 45 minute session. Each patient is alloacted a physiotherapy student and exercise rehabiliation is provided.
