We offer ongoing training and support to piano tuners who wish to acquire extra levels of ability. This is open to all VI, even if they are not yet members of the Association.

Wyre Forest Talking Newspaper provides weekly audio tapes of extracts from local newspapers in the Wyre Forest area of Worcestershire (Kidderminster, Stourport,Bewdley). This service is for blind and visually impaired people of the area. It is also for people for whom handling a traditional newspaper is difficult/impossible by reason of some other disability. The service is provided by volunteers

We are a small club in existance for over 15 years which caters for the visually handicapped living in the York area We have at the present time approx 30 members. We are a voluntary association meeting fortnightly for coffee/tea and a social chat and occasionally we have mid-week outings to places of local interest We use our own mini-bus for both activities.

We are all volunteers who record the local news on tape every week for blind persons. We read and record on a Monday evening and our listeners receive a tape the next day. We also send out a magazine on tape 4 times a year.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED BOWLING CLUB

The Provision of local news in audible form for the use of those who find reading difficult due to eyesight problems.

Young Sound Vision is for children who live in Stockport, Cheshire who are Deaf/Hearing Impaired, Blind or visually Impaired to help support them and their families. YSV arranges social activities.

Sporting, Recreational & Social Activities for the Blind & Visually Impaired.

Provision of weekly audio memory sticks containing readings from local newspapers which are mailed to severely sight impaired and sight impaired listeners (members). In addition, DTN organises PC training for its members - to help the blind and visually impaired benefit from the technology.

Provide a talking newspaper on memory stick for visually impaired and blind people in and around the Borough of Havant, Hampshire. This provides the listeners with local information and news. Our premises at 19 East Street, Havant, PO9 1AE (telephone 023 9248 0101) enable us to operate a drop in centre for listeners and friends.

Financial aid to elderly poor, sick and blind people living in Coggeshall. This aid usually takes the form of a small gift of money at Christmas time. Occasaionaly small amounts of money are also granted to people, who fit the criteria, at other times to help them buy goods or services which improve their quality of life.

Producing and providing local free talking newspapers for blind, visually impaired and housebound people.

Provides a weekly recording of news & information, gathered from the local press and disseminated to those whose sight is impaired or who have a temporary or permanent condition that inhibits their ability to read a newspaper.

Provides talking newspapers to the blind and visually impared

The education of handicapped or underprivileged groups, the provision of funds and equipment to hospitals for the purpose of research and education in medicine, relief of poverty, funding the building of schools, relief of famine, and provision of Guide Dogs for the blind.

The provision of a weekly newstape for the blind & partially sighted of the Borough

The Ipswich & District Talking Newspaper, ("Sound On") provides regular recorded local news and information updates for people living with a visual impairment or other disabilities which limit their access to printed material, in Ipswich and surrounding towns and villages.

To provide weekly recordings of the local newspaper and other items of interest for access by blind and visually handicapped persons in the Great Yarmouth area.

Payment of grants to beneficiaries with visual impairment, and identified as in need.

.The Walthamstow Social Centre For the Blind will hold meetings fortnightly to provide enterainment, advice and a social enviroment at a named venue. Transport will be provided where necessary to ensure inclusion of all visually impaired members within Waltham Forest. In addition the trustees will arrange outings to restaurants, theatres and other areas of interest.
