Saving, recording and handing on Cornish History and Traditions

We provide tapes for the blind and partially blind. Contents range from discussions with local community members to cultural and historical topics.

Restoration of the only 2 Unaltered Miner's Cottages in Cornwall and East Kit Hill Engine House and Chimney.

The main aim of the society is to further the study of the local history of the Altrincham area and to pass on these findings to the community through talks, visits & projects.

To promote the provision of facilities for recreation in Abington Park of individuals and the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants; and to preserve and protect the historical features in Abington Park.

To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting Alnwick and environs; to educate the public in the geography, history, natural history, and architecture in the area; to secure the preservation protection, development, and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the Alnwick area.

Making grants for the benefit of individual inhabitants of the village of Alton Pancras, Dorset, and of the village as a whole.Recent examples of the latter include substantial contributions to the cost of: A wildlife habitat adjoining the village A Village Map for the information of residents and visitors A Village History project

Monthly talks from September to May are followed by a series of Summer outings to places of historic interest. Our magazine, "The Uxbridge Record", appears twice a year.

Education of women in its broadest sense - talks covering nature, science, fashion, home crafts, history: culture - theatre and places of interest visited: issues of the day discussed

Provides speakers and demonstrators for members that encourages then to take part in various activities or receive knowledge in subjects that will interest them such as crafts and local history as well as advancing their skills for their own benefit and of the local community.

Organises day schools and visits to historic archives, publishes local history research and provides contacts between local history societies in Berkshire.

The charity uses its income from investments to make grants to other local charities, or national charities, working in the historical parish of Greenford Magna, to assist them in their work with elderly people, and vulnerable adults and families. This can take the form of support for example of food banks and night shelters run by local churches.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE TRUST ARE TO RAISE FUNDS TOWARDS THE REPAIR MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT OF ALL SAINTS CHURCH PYTCHLEY, IN LIAISON WITH PYTCHLEY PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL. RECENT FUND RAISING HAS INCLUDED MUSICAL EVENTS, TALKS, A LECTURE OF LOCAL HISTORICAL / HERITAGE INTERESt, AN ART EXHIBITION AND A WW1 ARMISTICE CENTENARY EXHIBITION WHICH ATTRACTED DONATIONS.

LONGRIDGE HERITAGE CENTRE TRUST COLLECTS, PRESERVES AND DISPLAYS ARTEFACTS, DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS RELATING TO THE LONGRIDGE AREA. THESE ITEMS HAVE BEEN DONATED BY THE LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY AND RESIDENTS. THE TRUST OPERATES FROM A FREE ADMISSION HERITAGE CENTRE, BASED AT THE OLD RAILWAY STATION, AND ORGANISES A REGULAR PROGRAMME OF TALKS, EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS FOR THE PUBLIC.
