Bromyard & District Local History exists to foster an interest in local and family history

The charity provides grants to young people who live in or were born in Charlton Kings and are under the age of 25. These grants are made for educational purposes - e.g. funding towards National Curriculum history trips, music lessons, activities associated with Guiding and Scouting (such as international gatherings), support for university or college education.

The educating of the public by the support and assistance of the The Wilson, Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum ("the Gallery").Making loans or gifts of money to the Gallery, and in purchasing or acquiring or contributing to the purchase or acquisition of pictures, sculptures, works of art, costume, photographs, books and other works of artistic historical scientific or general public interest.

The Southwold Sailors' Reading Room was built in 1864 as a refuge for fishermen and mariners when not engaged at sea. Displays of a seafaring nature line the walls and fill glass cabinets. Pictures and portraits of local fishermen and seascapes, model ships and maritime paraphernalia offer a fascinating history of Southwold's connections with the sea.

Promotes the interests of inhabitants of the North Laine Area of Brighton by working with the local authority, police & other voluntary groups.
