the Trustees have established a museum in Elstree & Borehamwood with free access to our collections and events for members of the public. In order to promote our objects we hold frequent educational exhibitions. these serve to promote the history and heritage of the area in an interactive learning environment.

Local history research and publication

The Society promotes and encourages the study of local history; it owns and manages the Leatherhead Museum, it maintains / curates artefacts for local parishes; and maintains the local history archives and records. It publishes historical materials; holds talks on local history; and encourages the preservation of buildings and sites of archaeological or historical interest in the district.

We provide a conservation service for printed and manuscript heritage, primarily sacred texts from the Sikh tradition. We provide preservation advice for individuals as well as Gurdwaras and institutions who are custodians of printed and manuscript heritage.

The objects of the Society shall be to advance the education of the public in the subject of History, and to facilitate historical research, by the publication, distribution and interpretation of records relating to the history of the County of Oxfordshire.

The objects of the trust are to promote for the benefit of the nation the preservation of public transport vehicles and items of allied transport interest which are of historical and educational value.

THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A MUSEUM IN THE OLD LEIGH CONSERVATION AREA FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC AND FOR THE EXHIBITION TO THE PUBLIC OF OBJECTS AND OTHER ITEMS CONNECTED WITH THE HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF LEIGH-ON-SEA.

Running the Annual LGBT Pride Festival to celebrate the diversity of the LGBT community and to increase the social cohesion and inclusiveness of the LGBT local community. Other events are organised including but not limited to IDAHOT, TDOR, National Coming Out Day, TDOV, World Aids Day, LGBT History Month. Running awareness campaigns surrounding LGBT sexual health and identity issues.

Stickford Community Centre provides facilities for members of the public and residents of Stickford. These includemeetings/activities eg Parish Council Meetings, Stickford Ladies Social Circle, Keals Club, Relax and Craft Group, Local History Group, Coffee mornings, Bingo and other fundraising events. It is hired as a training venue and used as an emergency facility in case of flooding, etc.

with Educare Foundation have offered help and support to different organizations by using Health care professionals to give Presentations on, Ovarian Cancer and Breast Cancer. The organization engaged in a Multi Media Project with the local community. was involved in a community project for Black History Month. Educare has promoted social care alongside health awareness in the community.

Museum providing information and exhibits about Ashford in Kents past including for the first time an area highlighting the towns railway history. For the 2014 season a display commemoration the first world war with photographs and letters fromlocal people. It also includes a small mock trench.

We organise fundraising events to help raise funds which can be spent on extras the school is unable to buy and which will benefit the children. Activities organised include Fireworks night, Christmas Fair, Easter Egg hunt, Family Quiz and Summer Fair. The funds pay for visiting Samba band and a history workshops, sports equipment, music lessons, curriculum topics props and items.

The Herefordshire Light Infantry Museum collects, documents, conserves, exhibits and interprets items relevant to the history of the Regiment.

The Chapel has been completely renovated with significant help from the National Lottery. A permanent exhibition has been designed to tell the history of the original barracks,non conformist religion and Charlwood. The building is open to the public on certain days. Journey to Justice is an alliance of hundreds of volunteers across all age groups, sectors and regions of the country who believe that stories from the past of 'ordinary' people who took action for justice and human rights can inspire us to become active citizens ourselves. We combine history, the arts of protest and teach about the factors which lead to change and work with people of all ages.

Repair and maintain the structures at the historic Latton Basin site. Improve and maintain the towpath and canal bed between the Basin and the River Thames. Research the history of the Basin and the people who lived there, worked on the canal or resided in the local area.

The Charity supports the restoration, conservation and maintenance of Alexander Pope's grotto in Twickenham, promotes interest in and knowledge of the grotto and its significance in local and national history, and raises funds towards the cost of restoration and conservation work.
