Simmons Homes is an Almshouse charity which has 13 properties in Okehampton, Devon. The properties are let to people who live in Okehampton or Okehampton Hamlets.

Supporting the residents of Great Torrington through our Almshouses and Affordable housing. We also provide financial support for individuals, groups and charities through our grants and bursaries.

Housing

To provide supported housing accommodation in the community with associated amenities for the mentally ill or disabled.

The Charity provides a Nursery school building and Teachers at the school. The Convent Chapel is used as Mass centre for the local Parish of St Mary's Alton. The Sisters visit the sick, The Convent facilities are made available to Christian formation and other teaching and retreats groups for the Diocese. They also provide assistance to sister houses of the Institute including missions abroad.

The first obligation is to meet the outgoings and repair and maintain the homes owned by the charitiy. Up to one third of any remaining income may be distributed as grants for the advancement of education. The balance may be applied for relief of 'those in need' among the residents. Any residue may be used for the general benefit of parish inhabitants.

The provision of almshouses and their management and maintenance to ensure that the residents enjoy a high quality of life during their retirement.

The object of the charity is to support, by means of grant aid, individuals with learning disabilities, or families with a member who has learning disabilities within the county of Gloucestershire.

The provision of residential property to residents who shall be poor women who1. have lived in Leicestershire for a period of ten years, or2. have had a husband who was either born in the County or has lived there for a period of ten years, or3. have had a parent who was either born in the County or has lived there for a period of ten years.

To administer 20 (twenty) almshouses for occupation by senior citizens who have lived or worked in Halstead for not less than 25 (twenty five) years with priority given to former employees of Samuel Courtauld & Co.

The education and advancement in life of young people under the age of 25 years who are in need of assistance.

The Rev. Brian Attwell and his wife, Betty Attwell, are responsible for running the St. Andrews Childrens Home (Hogar San Andres) at Chosica, near Lima city, in Peru, South America. Over 30 abandoned, orphaned, and disabled children are being cared for in this home. Both short and long-term residential accommodation is provided for children, also medical care, food, clothing and education.

Almshouse - provision of housing for elderly single people

The objects of the charity, as amended on 15 June 2004, are the provision of care for persons in need, mainly in the inner Plymouth area, and the trustees may relieve those eligible for assistance by making direct grants or providing goods and services and by making grants to other persons or bodies who provide such assistance.

Provision and maintenance of low rent housing for the elderly (over 60's) who are fully retired and able to care for themselves.

Administers and manages several properties in Leicester accommodating homeless families.

The Charity is an Almshouse which provides eight properties housing older people in Doncaster.

Housing needs of the elderly within a 10 mile radius of Old Market Square, Nottingham

The residuary trust fund of the late John Eastwood was given to the Corporation of Todmorden to purchase land in the said borough and to erect and maintain dwelling houses to be called The John Eastwood Homes for occupation by poor and infirm persons of the age of sixty five years and over either married or single who have resided in the said borough for at least 20 years.

Continued to provide affordable housing to the residents of Stonesfield. Also makes grants to assist with all levels of education.
