The primary purposes of the Charity are: to provide and maintain good housing for needy people in Beckenham and Penge, grants of money for relief in need, hardship or distress of residents of Beckenham and Penge, or to former almshouse residents and grants of money for the promotion of education of young persons living in Beckenham and Penge.

To use the income from the rent of two cottages for the maintenance of the cottages and adjoining Old School building. Any surplus to be used towards the upkeep of St. Olaf's Church, Poughill, Bude.The School is used by children's organisations in Poughill, a lunch club and meetings for the elderly. Regular meetings of the Parochial Church Council, gatherings following funerals etc.

Provision of alms house accommodation

Care group that supports members of the community who are unwell, visiting in hospitals and home settings. Joint northern regional networking events social events liaising with the Jamaican High Commission to provide legal guidance and support for members and the wider community.

The branch boards/fosters previously abused, neglected or unwanted animals in need until new homes are found. RSPCA Inspectorate animals are given priority. Operates welfare neutering and treatment schemes for owners in receipt of certain state benefits and Community Animal Action Days to raise awareness responsible animal ownership. Raises funds to support the above activities.

We take in and re home small animals that are lost or abandoned. We microchip vaccinate and re home. We also neuter as many cats and dogs as we can and help those on low income to pay their vet bills.

Provides housing for people in need who are over 60 and have lived in the Parish of Alvechurch for at least one year.

Provision of housing.

The R.G.O.A. Trust cares for and homes greyhounds for owners of greyhounds that raced at Romford Greyhound when their racing careers are over. The retired greyhounds enter our rented kennels, they are fed & exercised and generally cared for until they can be homed. By advertising in newspapers, notice boards, website etc, we invite the public to visit our kennels and select a suitable greyhound.

The purpose of the Charity is to provide housing for the elderly and needy. The main activity of the Charity is to maintain the nine almshouses to a high standard. The Charity also offers allotments to members of the public in the village and also the surrounding area.

The charity manages a countryside centre and tea room in an historic local barn, moved from the site of the Channel Tunnel complex, housing local historic artefacts and information. It also manages an adjacent museum dedicated to the Elham Valley Line Railway, housing many rail based artefacts and the English half of the original model from the Channel Tunnel Exhibition Centre.
