Housing Charities

Greyfriars Trust exists to make grants to charities focusing on homelessness, aid to children, disability, poverty and education for deprived individuals. Specific interest is in areas local to Bristol and Brighton.

Management of Almshouses and associated endowment

Provision of houses for the elderly

The charity is mainly involved with giving donations to other UK organisations who give donations to individuals and organisations operating overseas including Eastern Europe, Africa and India for the relief of poverty and the advancement of Christianity. This includes helping with such things as housing, heating and feeding schemes and medical bills including special diets.

Provides housing for elderly persons.

To provide houses for occupation on weekly tenancies by persons aged 50 years or over, who are in conditions of need, hardship and distress.

To help fund/subsidize school activities, purchase specialized equipment and improve the school facilities. To aid the advancement and educational standard of the children.

The charity has two properties that it rents for people in need

We run a well-maintained and versatile Village Hall, built in 1936 for the benefit of the local area of Telscombe Cliffs and Peacehaven which is managed by a board comprising representatives of our user groups and co-opted members drawn from the local community.We are home to a thriving Nursery School, Guides, Brownies and several dance groups as well as hosting private parties and other events.

Housing for the Needy

The main purpose of the WI organisation are to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life including arts, crafts and sciences, to improve & develop conditions of rural life, to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions both national & international, in music, drama & other cultural subjects & in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, h

Provision of 4 almshouses for single ladies of reduced means, Melbourn, Cambs.

Social housing

Hampton Homes are 4 dwellings that are rented out to people who fill the necessary criteria namely that of age and financial status. The homes are in a small village in Herefordshire. There are no other activities linked to Hampton Court Homes to my knowledge. I am a new trustee.

Rescue and rehoming of cats and kittens. Providing veterinary treatment prior to rehoming including neutering, vaccinating and microchipping. The cats and kittens are cared for in our volunteer foster homes until new homes are found. We operate a subsidised neutering/spaying scheme for privately owned cats and dogs and where possible will also help with other veterinary treatment for any animal.

To further the objectives of the WI Movement. "To improve and develop conditions of rural and urban life and to advance the education of women in citizenship, in public questions both national and international, in music, drama and other cultural subjects, and to secure instruction and training in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare".

The income of the charity is applied generally or individually to assist in meeting the charitable aims of Origin Housing Association and to provide assistance to individuals and communities who are in necessitous circumstances.

Relief of poverty and the provision of accomodation for the elderly.

Provide subsidised accommodation for elderly widows/widowers previously residing in the Great Asby area and maintain the structure of the Almshouses, the property of the Trust.

Provision of two almshouses for the needy, to maintain them to a high standard. Thereafter to provide benefits for the needy in Bunny and Bradmore and in general to give assistance to persons in distress.

Make grants to charity organisations and individuals, working with the elderly and those from a religious background.

providing accommodation at the Trustees' discretion, for the poor of the parish of Kettlestone.

The Charity collects income from Investments and Pays Students in their second year ay University a Grant if their home address is within Flitwick, and we also assist Applicants for Relief in Need

Almshouse Charity providing accommodation for the needy and elderly in Cawood, Selby

Fund-raising for the repair ,maintenance and improvement of the ancient Church of All Saints Brightlingsea which houses unique memorial tiles to local sailors.
