Leisure Charities That specialise in Sports

The charity offers a range of sporting and leisure activities. It seeks to help & provide facilities for young people, elderly, people with disabilities and socially disadvantaged.

Provide and maintain a Youth Centre building for the use of both youth and adult groups for activities such as Scouting, Keep Fit, Dance Classes and other sporting and ad hoc uses.

Provide or assist in the provision of facilities in a village hall and recreation ground for sporting activities and leisure for the residents of Bashley.

The Community Centre provides varied activities for the benefit of the community which we serve. These include - stroke club - computer club - children's disco - warm zone drop-ins - band rehearsals- church groups- - day carers group - disabled group - keep fit classes - social activities - rugby training and a meeting venue, activity groups and a gardening/social group.

The charity provides accommodation to facilitate clubs and organisations beneficial to the local community and beyond. It also has a playing field utilised by both sports clubs and other organisations.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE; CHILDRENS PARTIES, FESTIVALS & FUN DAYS, DOG TRAINING, PRIVATE FUNCTIONS, CUBS & SCOUTS, TODDLERS GROUP, KARATE, ANNUAL & PUBLIC COMMUNITY EVENTS.

Letting of rooms to support the Village Shop and Filkins Swimming Pool and Post Office

To provide a meeting place for local activity groups which include: Women's Institute, Y.F.C., Table Tennis Club, Short Mat Bowls and meetings of the Community Council ; it is used by local residents for birthday parties, receptions after funerals and other family functions. We hold an annual Christmas party for local people as well as fund-raising coffee mornings.

To maintain and manage the Victoria Hall, the adjoining Sports Field and the Multi Unit Games Area.

Provides facilities for Educational, Social and Sporting activities.

Our centre is self-financing and managed by volunteers. We provide a pleasant venue for local residents and groups. Activities include art, ladies choir, W.I. and day centre for the elderly (run by volunteers), also yoga and pilates for adults plus karate classes for children. We have fund raising events i.e. craft & plant sales, afternoon teas, music and social events throughout the year.

THE HALL IS HIRED BY VARIOUS GROUPS INCLUDING PLAYSCHOOL, BOWLS CLUB, ,SLIMMING CLUB, BINGO, MODEL RAILWAY CLUB AND IS WELL SUPPORTED BY THE COMMUNITY. IT IS ALSO FOR HIRE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR PARTY CELEBRATIONS, MEETINGS, PRIVATE & PROMOTIONAL FUNCTIONS. BLOOD DONOR SESSIONS ARE HELD ON A REGULAR BASIS.

TO PROVIDE A RANGE OF ACTIVITIES ,SPORT AND SKILLS WHICH ARE ATTRACTIVE AND ADVENTUROUS WITHIN A CARING DISCIPLINE BASED ON THE HIGH STANDARDS OF THE ROYAL NAVY, TO WHICH YOUNG PEOPLE CAN RESPOND AND WHICH WILL, IN TURN, ASSIST THEIR DEVELOPMENT OF SELF-CONFIDENCE, SELF-DISCIPLINE, LEADERSHIP AND A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY TO THE COMMUNITY.

To run and maintain a publicly used village facility used for clubs and societies for meetings ARTS/CULTURE and SPORTS/RECREATION. Private and public events on a 'one off' basis or a short run of events, as in drama performances. The area served is primarily the village but also surrounding villages and towns.

PLACE OF WORSHIP, SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, EDUCATION, SPORTS, YOUTH ACTIVITIES, HEALTH RAISE AWARENESS AMONG MUSLIMS OF ISSUES RELATED TO DRUGS AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES, BIRTH & DEATH RELATED ISSUES, PROVIDE COMMUNICATION LINK WITH HEALTH ORGANISATION RAISE AWARENESS OF MUSLIMS ISSUES. MATRIMONIAL PROVIDE COUNSELLING AND SUPPORT FOR MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE ISSUES

The Charity maintains the Lophams Village Hall for the benefit of local people by allowing the hall to be used for family events and bringing in outside providers to run events, educational courses and sports opportunities for local people to participate in.

The provision of facilities for people to hire for private or public functions, activities workshops etc. Current hirers include short mat bowls, craft, fitness training, Kent County Council Day Opportunities Service, The Arts Society Canterbury, Asbestos Cancer Support group, womens institute, organ club and whist. Monthly bingo and dances.

CLUB FOR YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 16 AND 30 PROVIDING SPORTS, SOCIAL, COMPETITIONS, CHARITY AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN RURAL AREAS

Leek Young Farmers is a affiliated Club to the Staffordshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, a rural youth organisation open to anyone aged between 10 and 28 years of age. They meet regularly in and around the Leek area and organise their own programme of events which include sports, talks, visits, discos and balls to name a few!

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends, having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges. Every week we give almost half a million 6-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills for life.

INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPORTING AND SOCIAL FACILITIES

Sports field & pavilion maintained by Parish Council & rented to various local organisations.

The Trustees let the hall for various usesincluding table tennis, dancing classes, martial arts classes,table top sales etc.
