Lavendon Village Hall is the focal point for many of the village activities. It is the meeting venue for the youth club, the old peoples welfare association, short mat bowls club, weekly whist drives and other private and fund raising activities. The trustees are totally responsible for the upkeep of the building and for maintaining financial viability.

Sports and Liesure Ativities

We provide a social hub for the people of Marnhull and the surrounding area. The Hall is home to some 20 clubs and societies. In addition the hall provides a venue for a variety of public and private events including meetings, shows, with sufficient space for those who require to entertain and be entertained. The pavilion caters for sporting events carried out on the recreation ground.

We raise money which is used to fund projects & purchase equipment that enriches the lives of the children within Molescroft Primary School. We do this by organising events such as summer/Christmas Fayre, discos, cinema nights & band nights. The Gatty Hall functions as the centre of village life for the community of Ecclesfield and the surrounding area. MSSC is a sports and social club for visually impaired people and sighted members. We run regular cycling, walking, bowls, darts, swimming, canoeing and social activities including quizzes, theatres, brewery tours and much more from our base in Colliers Wood, Merton. We try to partner with other organisations in Merton and beyond that support us through fundraising and shared activities.

The recreation ground has a pavilion with changing rooms for both sexes , a disabled access lavatory as well as a meeting room/kitchen.The pavilion is used for sporting and social purposes and can be hired by the public.On the ground there is one football pitch and a play area for youngsters with a basketball shooting court. There is seating for the many walkers and visitors who use the area .

Ludlow Scout Group has over 80 young people aged between 6 and 18. Some of the activities that the young people experience including camping, canoeing, map reading, survival techniques, the development of teamwork, and cooking over an open fire.
