We have provided and maintained a hall which has been regularly used, such as by the village Sunshine Club (the over 60s), activities for young people run by North Copeland Youth Partnership, and various functions like wedding receptions and bithday parties. The hall is also used by the Parish Council and the County Council for meetings.

Raise money in support of our local hospital and community nursing services (e.g.midwives, mental health, school nurses and district nurses) for the benefit of patients and staff.

The trust deed states that the income from the invested funds is available for the personal use of the vicar for the time being of Sileby.

Main activities church services (evensong each month), plus others as appropriate e.g. Maundy Thursday, Easter songs of praise, Christmas candlelit carols. Individuals use space for private prayer. Bishop holds a yearly day for Deanery Clergy. The upper room is also available to village residents for small meetings, committees etc. Ground floor rooms used for storage by two designated tenants.

RECREATIONAL USE

The charity seeks to enhance awareness of the role of VAD nurses who gave their lives during both World Wars, and to advance the education of nurses today. Activities include establishing a public memorial (at the National Memorial Arboretum); creating a roll of honour (on the charity's website); educating the public; supporting the education of nurses through individual study grants.

For the improvement of the church and schools in the parish of Holy Trinity Stroud Green London N4, or for such purposes of the church and schools as the Vicar shall decide.

Supporting the the Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Swanage in its objectives of promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church through financial contributions towards assistant clergy expenses and maintenance costs of St Mark's Church

Money generated from investments is distributed each December to specified churches for distribution by the priests to the poor of their area of Barnsley in cash or kind.

Grants made to poor clergymen, their widows and children living in the ancient deanery of Braughing or the archdeaconry of St Albans as defined in 1747.

Augmenting of the stipend of the Vicar of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St.Matthew, Shuttington. The parish now subsumed in the Parish of All Souls, income is paid into the PCC of Shuttington.

PROVISION OF HOUSE FOR NURSES

We had a varied programme of talks on The Suffragettes, a Victorian Nurse (and scurrilous gossip), SS Great Britain and Unravelling the Secrets of Forged Signatures. Christmas songs were enjoyed - along with mince pies, and we all enjoyed painting on silk. Along with our meeting on Resolutions and our AGM plus a couple of quizes, we also managed monthly walks and Book Group.

The fund provides for payments:- to the vicar of St. Stephens, East Hardwick. To the Parish of Ackworth via Ackworth United Charities. To the Parish of East Hardwick. To the upkeep of St. Stephens Church East Hardwick. To the Educational Foundation of Stephen Cawood (529258).

1. To educate doctors and nurses in India about palliative care and its importance for those suffering from advanced cancer.2. To provide practical relief from the distressing symptoms of cancer, by the provision of pain clinics, drugs and relevant equipment.

1) To alleviate poverty among nurses and midwives at Coventry University by offering £500 grants to those students in financial need. Students will apply for support and provide evidence of need.2) To award an annual writing prize to encourage critical thought among nurses and midwives.

The charity is a grant making and service providing charity which promotes the relief of poverty and hardship and the advancement of education and any other charitable purpose for the benefit of all employees and former employees of the coal mining industry in South Wales.
