Making of grants by the Vicar of All Saints' Church

The Charity was founded in 1697 to provide a church and vicar, a school and provision for some old people in the village. A new 'Scheme' was established in early 2011 to clarify the Trust aims into a more appropriate setting to reflect the needs of the church, school and community, but by maintaining the original Trust objectives.

To promote human development through training and education by enhancing individual's personal growth and creative skills and other such charitable purposes that the Trustees shall from time to time determine.To raise funds for training of nurses and other health workers; for the building and equipping of buildings to be used for the purpose of caring for the sick and training opportunities.

To advance public education in the arts and drama, dance and music through the support and encouragement of community and participatory arts at Ammanford Miners' Theatre and to raise funds. to promote the Ammanford Miners' Theatre situated on the first floor of the Ammanford Miners' Welfare Hall.

To augment the stipends of clergy having charge of the parish of Ilminster

Endowment Providing accommodation for persons to the benefit of the local community such as District nurse, Teacher or those in poor circumstances'

The object of the Charity is to relieve in cases of need persons resident in Tansley who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm.

We also aim to provide sufferers with information, help and support in achieving the best results in their treatment.

the original purpose of the trust was to buy bread for the poor, and to pay for 8 sermons to be preached. Latterly it was paid to the Vicar for poor relief.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

To provide monies to the elderly or poor of the village. To pay the P.C.C. with money for church upkeep. To pay the vicar who preaches four times in the year. To provide monies to apprentices for their training.

The Charity relates to a peppercorn rent attached to some older properties in the parish and dates back several hundred years hence the small amounts involved. The money collected is distributed between the Vicar of Ipstones; the School Trustees and the pensioners of the parish. Because of the small amounts involved the money collected is distributed every 3 or 4 years.

Income from this small charity is used to make grants at Christmas to the deserving and needy in the parish of Westoning.

The money collected is now distriuted between the Vicar of Ipstones (-+?1 per year), The School Trustees (-+?1 per Year) with the remainder going to a group who hold auctions to rasie money for the Senior Citizens of parish

The awards committee made 1 educational award in line with the Trusts objectives, in June 2012. Some spending was made to relieve hardship. Applications and awards for the relief of hardship are dealt with in confidence
