The primary object of all PCCs is the promotion of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the doctrines and practices of the Church of England. The PCC (Powers) Measure 1956 states that the PCC 'is to co-operate with the Minister in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical'.

The CIO represents Grace Church Hackney, a Church of England congregation operating under a Bishop's Mission Order conducting worship services and acts of charitable faith in the local community and beyond in London.

The Methodist Church Barnsley North East seeks to share the gospel of Christ in the communities it serves.
