The Association exists to promote the enjoyment of organ music in general and choral music associated with the Christian Church. The Association aims to encourage organists of all ages to develop their musical abilities, and is able to offer small grants to members who are engaged in a recognised course of organ tuition, and who live in Shropshire.

Friends of St Margaret's hold two or three small fundraising activities each year - mainly for the congregation and their friends and families. The profits are banked until such time as a need for funds arises in order for the church to improve or maintain facilities.
