Hospice care with the aim of enhancing the quality of life of patients with cancer, progressive neurological disease and other conditions, and for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Asthma and Lung UK exists to help people with lung disease. It achieves this by:1 - Funding vital research into understanding, treating and preventing lung disease.2 - Promoting greater understanding of lung disease and campaigning for positive change in the nation's lung health.3 - Offering services and support so no one has to face it alone.

The Animal Health Trust is dedicated to reducing suffering in animals by increasing the understanding of how to prevent and treat animal diseases. We do this by the provision of clinical and diagnostic services and research and educational work. The results of our studies are disseminated, thereby improving animal welfare on a world-wide basis.

The CIOB is governed by Royal Charter with the following objectives - the promotion for the public benefit of the science and practice of building and construction and, the advancement of public education in the science and practice of building and construction including necessary research and the publication thereof.

To promote and advance education, training and skills in science, technology, engineering and manufacturing, and in particular to advance skills in such areas as are or may be in future required by the engineering profession, for the development of: (i) persons employed or intending to be employed in Industry and / or commerce, and (ii) the public generally.

The objects of the College are to advance the science and practice of Clinical Radiology and Clinical Oncology.

Commission and distribute literature on the Radha Soami teachings. Guide authors in their research and writings on spirituality and religion. Raise awareness of organ donations and support NHS in holding blood donation camps. Support other Charities in UK and Europe with similar objectives to its own to hold weekly and national meetings where discourses on the Radha Soami teachings are given.

The aims and activities of Leeds Castle Foundation are to preserve the Castle, its collections and its grounds for the benefit and enjoyment of the public. Its secondary aim is to provide a location for discussion and debate of medical science, and a forum for the arts. The Castle and its grounds are made available to the general public for 364 days per annum.

The CCDC is dedicated to the advancement of chemistry and crystallography for the public benefit through providing high quality information services and software. This is primarily achieved through compilation and dissemination of the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). The CSD is an essential resource in the molecular sciences and is used extensively in medical research aimed at the drug design.

The Ri's objects, as defined by the Royal Charter of 1800, are to diffuse knowledge, facilitate the general introduction of useful mechanical inventions and improvements and for teaching by courses of philosophical lectures and experiments, the application of science to the common purposes of life.
