Research Charities

The objectives of the Society are to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public performances of choral and orchestral music and for related activities.

To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit, including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals.

Central London Barbershop Harmony Club is a group of men which sings a cappella in the barbershop style. It is a member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers. It aims to advance, improve, and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of barbershop singing in all its aspects through the performance of its music

Promoting and maintaining a mixed voice choir, and furthering the art and science of music by the presentation of concerts and by such other related and ancillary activities as shall from time to time be organized with the approval of the members

Supports primarily British bee-related research projects of benefit to beekeeping and broader bee science. Some priority is given to work on bee diseases but not limited to honey bees. Supports and encourages young bee scientists through research studentships and travel bursaries.

To preserve for benefit of the public physical artefacts and objects that relate to the history and heritage of the sport of falconry including its contributions to the scientific sub-disciplines of raptor biology,captive breeding and conservation in a world-wide context.

The promotion of educational activities among older people and the encouragement of social gatherings. Achieved by the creation of separate self help groups under the umbrella of our organisation. Typical groups include; singing, gardening, science, arts, conversation, languages, discussion, photography, walking, etc. We currently have over 60 such groups.

1. Ministering to the spiritual,educational and moral develeopment, and also to the material needs where necessary of the Buddhist Community in Nottingham & Nottinghanshire;2. Advancing knowledge of Buddhism & Buddhist Philosophy, Mindfulness Meditation, and Buddhist culture & civilisation;3. Charitable activities directed at alleviating suffering resulting from natural and man-made disasters.

Museum of Timekeeping holds for public benefit a collection and library to inspire and promote public understanding and appreciation of horology and the history, science, art and craft of timekeeping, by collecting, documenting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting a collection and library to promote public enjoyment and understanding through exhibitions, public & educational programmes.

DFN provides scholarships at Nepali medical schools for students from poor rural backgrounds. In return, the students undertake to work in remote and deprived rural areas of Nepal for an agreed period after qualifying. The charity supports students both during and after their studies, in liaison with local medical colleges; it also delivers health projects and disaster relief.

We have a main meeting each week usually with an outside speaker on a variety of topics. In addition we have, on average, 36 study groups which cover a wide range of interests including: discussion; mah-jong; French; birdwatching; philosophy; art; walking and gardening.

Potential Difference is a theatre company that uses storytelling to insprie, excite and engage people with ideas from science, philosophy and technology. We strive to create experiences that are expose people to new ideas in thrilling and accessible ways, and challenge the divide between science and the arts. We also lead talks, seminars and workshops for the public, and in educational settings

To pay the income of the trust to the Christian Science Board of Directors of the Mother Church the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston Massachusetts to be used in Great Britain for the promotion and extension of the religion of Christian Science as taught by Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science text book Science and Health with key to the Scriptures.

The National Heritage Science Forum improves partnership within the heritage science sector and with others by increasing collaboration to help practice make better use of research, knowledge and innovation and to enhance resources, funding and skills, investment and profile. Its activities seek to demonstrate the public benefit of heritage science and increase public engagement and support for it

To maintain for the benefit of the public in general and the communities of Richmondshire in North Yorkshire in particular a museum in Richmond, North Yorkshire, to acquire, hold, preserve, conserve, display and provide public access and reference to articles of literary, scientific, industrial, social or historic value.

Advance the education of the public in the subject of Web Science; lead the development of a research agenda and curricula in the Web Science community worldwide; provide support for activities such as conferences; support the creation of academic publication venues; engage government and private sector sources of science funding internationally; develop a global network of premier research labs.

Make grants to organisations that further science education, medical research and the arts; or to charities that benefit the homeless or operate to provide safety to those at sea.

The charity in the main provides support to charities in the UK and Overseas. It also supports with bursaries a limited number of graduate and post graduate students in particular those in Engineering , the Physical Sciences, Drama and Stage management.

We are an every day developing Youth football Club. With youngest being 4 years old in our development Colts teams. We Also have a further 11 teams ranging in age and abilities. Our philosophy is we never turn anyone away. We fund raise through the year for a variety of reasons including kits, equipment and currently the refurbishment of our changing rooms. We are proud to be a grass roots club.

The Three Bears Foundation is a York based National Charity, focusing on the serious challenges of Pancreatic Cancer by raising awareness of the symptoms, seeking to help those diagnosed and working to support Research into the Disease. The Charity raises Funds through a variety of Events, working with the Community and also with PC UK as to Research having already forwarded over £90,000.00

Supplementary classes for Maths, English and Science for younger students; and a wider range of qualifications focussed on compliance and safety for adults. The advancement of Islam for the public benefit and in particular, by providing religious education for both young people and adults.
