Rahere (St Bartholomew's Hospital) Lodge members donate money for various charities especially for the sick and health related charities/organizations.

The charity provides in the way of a grant of monies or equipment to assist a market trader, dependant of a market trader by who are members or have been members of the federation. Non members supported by three members, for education, medical/sickness, disability, relief of poverty, living expenses, funeral expenses. Grants are at the discretion of the benevolent fund committee.

Masonic lodge benevolent fund

The Trust was set up for the advancement of education in veterinary science, but is currently dormant, as the charity relies on donations from BVA.A subsidiary charity, the BVA Staff Benevolent Fund, was set up to help current and ex-BVA employees and dependents in time of financial need.

"The object of the BBF is to relieve in cases of need, hardship or distress members of the Association, their spouses, widows, widowers and other dependants. Support is not limited to members but is also available to any former employee of the United Nations or of its Specialised Agencies provided they are resident in the United Kingdom."
