Canterbury Food Bank operates within the Canterbury City Council District (Whitstable, Canterbury, Herne Bay and surrounding villages) to alleviate poverty through the provision of crisis food parcels, items, services and facilities to individuals in financial need and contributing to and cooperating with charities and other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

Cavell is the charity supporting UK nurses, midwives and nursing associates, working and retired, when they're suffering personal or financial hardship. The objects of the Charity are to develop the capacity and skills of socially and economically disadvantaged communities of Children and Young People in the United Kingdom in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and participate more fully in society.

Sheffield Churches' Council for Community Care works with statutory and other voluntary agencies to provide packages of carefor vulnerable people: specifically to relieve poor, sick, elderly or disabled persons in Sheffield by providing or assisting in the provision of services calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.

We hold Quaker Meetings for Worship in five locations across Manchester and Warrington. Our Meetings are open to all, including children.We work to build peace, protect the environment and promote equality. We raise money to support causes we believe in including work with destitute asylum seekers and work to relieve poverty.

The objects of the charity are, in the spirit of Christian fellowship, and for the Public Benefit to provide for all people (but in particular for women): relief for those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; education in particular by the provision of a range of courses, learning activities and educational resources.

Relief of poverty

Open Doors provides the teaching of the English language to those who are disadvantaged, marginalised or isolated by language or culture. We run ESOL classes and vocational NVQ courses, employment mentoring and teacher training courses to qualify teachers to teach ESOL. Open Doors provides other workshops and activities seeking to help clients increase integration.

Provide financial support to deprived fishing communities and not-for-profit groups;Develop and share strategies by working with governments, think-tanks, and other third sector organisations;Educate the public to more environmentally friendly and sustainable fisheries practices; and Share and disseminate best practices backed by scientific research and expert-knowledge.

The Charity's objects ("Objects") are specifically restricted to the following:(i) the advancement of the Orthodox Jewish faith(ii) the advancement of education (iii) the relief of poverty, and(iv) such other objects as are for the benefit of the public and are charitable according to the laws of England and Wales

The Big Issue North Trust supports the homeless and vulnerably housed people who sell Big Issue North magazine in the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber.
