Respite at Home volunteers offers FREE befriending and support to patients and carers in their home

TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF THEIR AGE, ILL HEALTH, DISABILITY, SOCIAL ISOLATION OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, BY MEANS OF PRACTICAL SERVICES, INFORMATION AND ADVICE AND SIGNPOSTING TO OTHER AGENCIES.

The purpose is to share skills and experiences, provide a haven to combat loneliness and isolation and to add value to communities. It is an opportunity to use your skills in wood working, hobbying or any other specialist areas of making/repairing/up cycling or just to meet up for a chat and a cuppa with other Shedders.

To promote social inclusion for the public by preventing adults within the Brundall area from becoming socially excluded relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society through the provision of facilities in which they can meet to undertake creative physical or recreational activities learn or pass on skills & knowledge.

To service the people of Aylesbury Vale and surrounding villages to provide a communitybus service which satisfies a variety of aims and assists with the elderly, sports clubs and isolated people due to lack of transport opportunities2. We support refugees and their dependents, or those seeking asylum, in Kent, by the relief of financial hardship, befriending, assisting with English language learning, and generally helping them to adapt within a new community. Birmingham Community Association (BCA) has been providing specialised tailored welfare activities, particularly for African/Caribbean communities although not exclusive in Small Heath and surrounding area's. Since 1977 the BCA also offers & social activities, including befriending for the local community and provides a social framework of support for new communities arriving in Birmingham.

CareDogs tackles loneliness and social isolation one dog walk at a time via our befriending service which gets older people outdoors and benefitting from both human and dog companionship. We provide local volunteering opportunities for dog owners and also host community dog-walking events in partnership with neighbouring charities and organisations to get more people out walking and talking.

The Basement Studio targets social exclusion by providing youth work and music opportunities for 11 to 25 year olds in Bristol.

The aim of The Brendan Ingle Foundation is to address the needs of socially excluded individuals or those at risk of becoming socially excluded, by pursuing the following objectives 1) promoting social inclusion; 2) realising the needs of the socially excluded and 3) helping the socially excluded reintegrate into society using a combination of sport, mentoring, education and training.

A social club for adults of working age with physical disabilities living in St Albans District (which includes Harpenden and London Colney). The club offers social contact and community involvement plus a wide range of creative or recreational activities, of useful or interesting topics covered by speakers, and of trips in its own minibus.

Bespoke counselling and mentoring for children (from 10 years and upwards), young people, adults and families. The service is based in and focused on the Fieldway and New Addington areas, wards deemed to be the most deprived in the Croydon borough well known for high rates of deprivation, poverty, social exclusion, isolation, high unemployment and high crime rates, but is a borough-wide service.

The Friendship Centre is a social centre for older people, open 3 mornings a week. As well as the opportunity for social contact and peer support there are a number of activities on offer, such as art and crafts, dance classes, fitness classes, a local history group and massage. We serve hot lunches twice a week. We are based in Lancaster.

BFA deliver a six-month Befriend project for refugee families from French-speaking communities within Croydon who are isolated, lonely, and stressed to empower them to participate in weekly meetings. They can build knowledge on health issues. We run various sessions of dance, art, music, drama and life skills for young people with the help of volunteers to support young people.
