The village hall provides a place to meet, socialise, raise funds for charities and local small business ventures. We provide a place for entertainment and discussion, information boards and a centre for the village to congregate without distinction as to sex, political, religious or other opinions.

Social activities to provide fellowship and fun for members of the church and local community as well as a fund raising group for the church.

We help refugees and asylum seekers access all they are entitled to, providing advocacy case work, health and well being support & advice to help them with integration and settlement. We run 2 weekly drop-ins where people can meet others in a safe space, relax, and access help, as well as offering English classes and social events. We help raise awareness in the local community of refugees.

The Meeting Room provides the one meeting place within the village which is available for use at a nominal fee for the whole community. The Meeting Room also organises social events throughout the year for the whole community.

The Club runs twice-weekly bridge sessions open to all. The game provides both social interaction and mental stimulation, which are both important to individual well-being. The Club is proactive in promoting the game generally and through provision of training sessions for people wanting to learn the game/improve.

A non-secular guild which welcomes new members of any age. Activities include outings, social studies. Usually we have speakers about 10 months of the year.Annually we raise money for our current nominated charity .Friendship and support is a mainstay.

Byrness village hall provides recreation facilities for people in the area. There are weekly craft groups of card making and patchwork/quilting.Throughout the year there are social events for both children and adults eg halloween party, new years eve.The hall is also available for hire by private groups and is used by the parish council, whist groups , church groups etc.

The Friends of Strathmore School (FOSS) works to help the special needs pupils, many severely disabled, at The Strathmore School in Petersham.FOSS raises funds to help fund education ressources , hold social events and assists the staff to enrich the children's quality education and leisure.FOSS also has the role of a Parent/Teacher Association.

We carry out health promotion activities for young people and the elderly. We provide support to settle elderly people back to the community after hospital admission. We organise social events for elderly people, young people and those with disabilities on a weekly basis, to reduce isolation that may experienced. Through out-reach networking our volunteers liaise with widowed people for support

Operating in the Basingstoke area we provide workshop facilities where people can meet to socialise and engage in activities together.
