Promote, sustain, and increase individual and collective knowledge and understanding of, the sacred and secular music and song of Britain and its colonies, with particular reference to what has become known as West Gallery music, from its development following the restoration of the monarchy in 1660 through to its decline in the mid-nineteenth century and subsequent contemporary revival.
