To promote community participation in healthy recreation, in particular by the provision of facilities for exercise, competition and recreation on the water and on land, safely, and by the provision of encouragement and instruction in the sport of rowing, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas.
