The organisation makes grants to St Edmundsbury Cathedral Choir in order to promote the education and training of choir members and to enhance the choir's role as a major component in the worship and life of the cathedral and the diocese. Biddulph U3A has approx 500 members who take part in voluntary activities of their choice on a weekly basis. There are approx 35 classes to choose from including Singing, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Yoga, Tone and Trim, Keep Fit, Sequence Dancing, Acoustic Guitar, Badminton, Table Tennis, Computer Studies, Mexican Dominoes, Photography, Bowling, Art & Painting, Patchwork & Quilting, Walking.

Acting, singing and dancing

The Burford Singers is a choir of amateur local singers. The choir presents three concerts a year of mainly choral works in Burford. The choir actively encourages young people to participate by waiving subscriptions for students and uses the local children's choir whenever possible. The performances are mainly accompanied by an orchestra drawn from local players.

Harlow Chorus provides participants (young and old) with a creative, enjoyable and fulfilling educational activity, through training in both vocal techniques and musical repertoire. For audiences, we present exciting, innovative and high quality performances which should always be a pleasurable cultural experience, but will sometimes challenge and educate them by extending their musical knowledge.

The promotion of educational activities among older people and the encouragement of social gatherings. Achieved by the creation of separate self help groups under the umbrella of our organisation. Typical groups include; singing, gardening, science, arts, conversation, languages, discussion, photography, walking, etc. We currently have over 60 such groups.

Display of paintings and other works of art, changed on an monthly basis, the centre is open to the public Tuesday, Thursday (10am - 4pm) and Saturday mornings. The Arts Society premises are used for Local Authority classes in Painting and are used by the various member groups (Painting, Dancing, Choral, Music, Patchwork etc.) to carry out their activities.
