Arts Charities That specialise in Literature

Our group meets monthly and includes talks on various subjects, a discussion group, who consider up to date issues and a book group who read and discuss a wide variety of literature and authors. The guild organises outings to places of interest. The guild holds social events to raise money to help others.

The charity researches and publishes books about Public Transport in the City of Leeds and surrounding areas. It also restores historic public transport from Leeds. It assists other societies with information requests. The Society also holds regular social meetings at which speakers give talks on public transport related topics. 4 newsletters to members are published each year.

Providing a 'Library of Things' for Haywards Heath and surrounding areas

Meetings, talks, readings, exhibitions, outings, publications to advance the education of the public in all matters relating to the writings of poet and novelist Francis Brett Young. Appropriate money-raising activities to finance this.

The Friends of St Matthew's PTA was founded to focus on fundraising for the school. Aims include creating two libraries, providing new books and creating a vibrant, inviting and stimulating environment. Assisting with other resources required around school including IT and our outdoor play areas. We fundraised through various activities including fairs, competitions, lottery and sponsorships.

Ross Educational Foundation offers grants to students up to the age of 25 whose homes are within the boundaries of Ross Urban or Ross Rural Parish Council. Grants are awarded for books, equipment, etc, to students following higher education courses & those learning professional or skilled trades. Students studying music & other arts may also apply.

We help members of the 'league', aid their families, dependents and colleagues with small financial gifts where necessary, required and applied for. We produce an annual journal and have an AGM requesting for updated information on colleagues/members and their families who may be in need of our assistance. Membership currently 397.

The Society is the amenity society covering the whole Brixton area, the central part of the London Borough of Lambeth.The Society takes a close interest in planning, regeneration and conservation, and attempts to promote good practice in these fields. It is also a respected source of local history information, with several publications in print.

The Turning Pages Foundation is dedicated to enhancing global literacy rates and advocating for the importance of reading. We prioritize empowering Children and the General Public through literacy initiatives, recognizing its transformative impact on individuals and communities worldwide. Acquiring by gift, purchase or otherwise, and present to the Bodleian Library rare printed books and manuscripts as well as other items of literary, musical, historical or artistic interest, assisting the library in the purchase of any such material and its preservation; promoting and supporting the library in its aim to fulfil the needs of the University of Oxford.

The purpose of the Charity is to educate, familiarise and provide assistance for research into the history of the development of small arms, including anti-armour and mortars. The collection includes the Travers Library which is over a 1000 books of military history and small arms associated equipment and ancillaries.

Fund raising on behalf of Summerbridge Community Primary School, to fund activities and resources identified by the school, and approved by the PTA committee. Fund raising activities might include (but are not limited to) coffee mornings, including sales of donated items (baked cakes and second hand books, toys and uniform), christmas and summer fetes, and duck race.
