The Trustees have the power to apply income or capital to the purchase of pictures, prints, sculptures, books, works of art as the Trustees consider to be of national, scientific, historic or artistic interest in connection with City of Lincoln. The ownership of items purchased to be transferred to the City, such items to be exhibited in the Usher Gallery or such other place in the City.

The main objective is the advancement of education by the enhancement of libraries, learning, advice and information, archives and other related services for residents of Manchester and citizens of the UK. The charity is currently seeking funding to support educational and cultural activity for Manchester Libraries.

NatSCA supports natural science collections and the people who work with them, to improve care, access and enjoyment for all. We are UK-based but welcome international members and users.We provide: - training workshops, seminars & conferences- peer-reviewed journal- networking opportunities- website & sector resources- member bursaries- member project grants- advocacy

IFHS promotes the science of surveying at sea and related sciences by providing a channel for the exchange of information between those engaged or interested in hydrography or related disciplines.The charity publishes regular journals and arranges seminars, conferences and other relevant events. It also operates and Education Fund to assist students and those at the outset of their careers.

Provision of a library.

The charity delivers library and information services for the public benefit as well as additional activities such as the Summer Reading Challenge for children, Story Time sessions for pre-school children, Rhymetime sessions for the same age group, regular IT drop in sessions for all ages and a Home Library Information Service for the delivery of books to the elderly and housebound.

Fundraising is key to the Parents Association, with regular events including the Christmas & Summer fair, quiz night, movie night, Valentine's disco and cake & lolly sales throughout the year. The biennial summer ball made a big contribution. Income was paid out to purchase a new play-frame, dance & arts workshop, panto, leavers hoodies, literacy sacks, banner & upkeep of the school minibus.

Extracurricular/after school clubs activities in arts, humanities, sport, science, IT, foreign languages;Reading & discussion clubs to enhance literacy, understanding of current affairs, creative & critical thinking;Leadership & management skills training courses;Basic computer & social media literacy, basic coding skills;Educational trips to museums, science centres, historical sites.

LITERARY SOCIETY WHICH HAS THE AIM OF PROMOTING PUBLIC RECOGNITION OF THE WRITINGS, THOUGHT, AND CONTRIBUTION TO THE ARTS BY THE POWYS FAMILY AND THEIR CLOSE ASSOCIATES. THESE AIMS ARE MET BY HOLDING AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND OTHER REGIONAL EVENTS AND MEETINGS AND CARRYING OUT A PUBLISHING PROGRAMME WHICH INCLUDES A NEWSLETTER, A LEARNED JOURNAL AND OTHER OCCASIONAL WORKS.

Acts as Friends of Swansea Museum;purchases items for its collection; arranges a series of monthly evening lectures, Presidents Invitation Lecture and 4 lunch time talks on a range of topics by specialists in their subjects;Finances a series of work shops for young people on local topics; Publishes Annually well researched contibutions in Swansea History Journal(formerly Minerva) and 3 Newsletters

Read Easy Ealing is dedicated to changing lives by providing free, one-to-one reading tuition for local people. Our vision is for all adults in Ealing to have the literacy skills they need to realise their potential. We offer an accessible, community-based, individualised approach to helping adults learn to read.

Makes grants to Church of England Schools in Offley and Cockernhoe. Gives financial assistance to persons of either sex, who are resident in Offley and who have not attained the age of 25 years; for outfits, clothing, tools, instruments or books in order to prepare for, or to enter, a profession, trade or calling.

VOLUNTEER-RUN LOCAL LIBRARY IN A SUBURB OF SHEFFIELD. LIBRARY SERVICE (BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS) PLUS ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES E.G. TODDLER CLUB, CRAFT AND WRITING GROUPS, IT LEARNING AND SUPPORT.

As a village hall charity we make available the building and its facilities (kitchen, snooker, changing rooms, stage, toilets etc) to local organisations (eg W.I, dance, exercise, toy library, art group, summer students) and sometimes to local individuals for private events. We organise public events from time to time, eg skittle evenings, quiz evenings, coffee mornings, concerts, shows, markets

The British Records Association, a charity established in 1932, exists to promote the preservation, understanding, accessibility and study of our recorded heritage for the public benefit. We publish a newsletter and journal, hold an annual Lecture and Conference, and award an annual prize. We also work with institutional partners to address the challenge of records at risk.

The Scout Group provides volunteers (both adults and young leaders) and facilities for local young people to enjoy the education, experiences and adventures of Scouting and Guiding both indoors and on the grounds around the Group Headquarters. Visiting Scout Groups, Guide Groups, Schools, Youth Groups and local families can book and use the facilities during the year.

For travelling scholarships or other financial aid to Nationals of Scandinavian Countries to assist and encourage them in research in English Literature and general education assistance as decided by the Governors of Abo Akademi University

Providing creative writing, literacy and arts based activities to young people. Provide training in creative learning and equality and diversity to organisations. Provide advice on educational resources and create theatre promoting diverse literature.

Provision of secondary and tertiary educational scholarships for promising pupils at Mutunyi school in North Kenya together with sundry capital projects benefiting Mutunyi School such as provision of a school library, construction of a water conservation scheme and the bringing of electricity and wiring of the school buildings all in association with Lewa Educational Trust.

The Wallington and Carshalton Women's Institute is a community based organisation for women in our local area. Our main group meets monthly where we have a wide range of speakers and general conversation. We run many groups for our members from Gardening and Craft to Book club and Walking groups. We Offer Friendship a Education to our members.
