Arts Charities That specialise in Music

Music for the Many provides instrumental tuition and other musical activities and opportunities free of charge to children in Todmorden, W. Yorks.

The main areas of activity this year saw the development of the Inner Vision Music Workshops for Visually Impaired people into 5 areas of London, and the National Tour of the Inner Vision Orchestra These activities have been celebrated in national and regional media including the BBC. The Orchestra and workshops were held under the direction of Baluji Shrivastav OBE, supported by Linda Shanson.

Jazz North East promotes grant-aided jazz concerts, festivals and workshops both alone and in partnership with other not-for-profit organisations. We aim to provide opportunities to hear and on occasion work with artists of the highest quality from our own region, from the wider UK and from overseas. We keep admission prices low to encourage attendance by young people and the unemployed.

The Cross Barn is a cultural and social hub for the inhabitants of Odiham and the surrounding area. The Barn can be hired for a range of community activities eg talks, meetings, concerts, fitness sessions etc as well as private functions such as family celebrations. Increasingly the Barn is providing a range of entertainment eg cinema and other social events to the community.

CMR aims to enable children in Norfolk, Suffolk and surrounding areas to hear live classical music in their school setting, inspire and interest to hear more classical music, encourage them to learn an instrument, provide free short recitals in schools and other venues, create links and initiate community collaborations, and advocate for children to have more access to live classical music.

Promotion and performance of orchestral concerts

To run an annual music festival in Petersfield in March, which consists of concerts by local choral societies and orchestras, celebrity concerts, recitals, and youth concerts for young singers and musicians from local schools. To run choral workshops and competitions for young composers. To assist young musicians by making financial awards towards their tuition or instruments.

The main aims of the society are (a) to provide a resource and encouragement to local people to display and develop their musical and performance skills. (b) To promote an appreciation of the musical arts within the community in an easily accessible way. (c) To support other charitable organisations.

WEEKLY LUNCHEON CLUB AND DROP IN SERVICE FOR, DISABLED, ELDERLY, ISOLATED, LONELY AND DEPRESSED WOMEN IN THE REDBRIDGE AREA. WE PROVIDE YOGA AND KEEP FIT TO MUSIC SESSIONS, ADVICE AND INFORMATION SEMINARS ON A RANGE OF HEALTH AND SAFETY MATTERS, OUTREACH SERVICE PROVIDING HOME AND HOSPITAL VISITS. REGULAR CLINICS HELD BY PSYCHOLOGIST. VISITS AND TRIPS.

To study, practice and encourage the enjoyment of brass music in all its forms.

Present activity is concerned with advanced musical education, including the Conductors' Academy, which supports the education and career development of emerging conductors, the Georg Solti Accademia and the Mascarade Opera Studio.

To improve conditions and facilities at Salvation Army schools, hostels and community centres in Kenya.Promote and support the development of music within and for The Salvation Army in Kenya.

To promote education and the arts for the public benefit, particularly by the presentation of the Winchester Chamber Music Festival. In the initial period, the Trustees have started the process of organising the 2016 Festival and setting up the Friends' scheme.

The choir of university students and members of public from the Colchester area, prepares to a high professional standard large-scale works for 2 or 3 concerts a year. The choir is accompanied by an orchestra and professional soloists.

The object of the charity is the advancement of musical education for the benefit of the public, and in particular: (1) the promotion of the musical training and general education of the choristers of the Temple Church by the provision and award of scholarships; and (2) the promotion of the appreciation of choral music by public performance in the Temple Church

Various Musical Ensembles

The Charity's principal objects are the study and practice of choral and orchestral music for the enhancement of musical satisfaction in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance. These objectives are achieved through the performance of public concerts

Organisation runs regular Indian dance and music classes for all age groups; working in partnership Surtal promotes concerts, exhibition, festivals, drama, participatory arts and educational programme to raise awareness South Asian arts and culture in Derby and the East Midlands region. Core focus of its work is youth, education and festivals.

UK HARMONY BRIGADE PROVIDES SINGING AND MUSICAL EDUCATION FOCUSED ON A CAPPELLA QUARTET SINGING THROUGH ITS ANNUAL BRIGADE RALLIES.

We produce two annual productions and an occasional concert either as a group travelling to visit our twin town or a fund raising concert at our usual venue. A charity sub-committee meets to decide donations from our funds that could help local individuals, groups or organisations.

Kingston Choral Society was formed in 1949 and has 120-130 singers. Concerts are usually held in Kingston Parish Church. It performs four concerts a year covering a wide range of music from Bach to Gershwin and often performs with professional orchestras and high calibre soloists. There are occasional workshops and regular social and fundraising events are held.

The objects of Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus are to advance the education of the general public in choral music by the regular performance of such music from the widest possible repertoire and such means as the Committee see fit. SPC is based in Sheffield, draws it membership from a wide area and regularly performs at Sheffield City Hall as well as other national and international venues.

We produce and perform shows for the general public to come and watch. The society is open to all members of the community upon completion of an audition to assess suitability for singing, dancing and acting.We are based in St Anne's-on-the-Sea on the Fylde Coast and usually perform at the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham St Annes.
