PROVIDES LOW COST CONCERTS OF CLASSICAL MUSIC IN RINGWOOD & FORDINGBRIDGE PLAYED BY NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS & ENSEMBLES

The NMO brings outstanding orchestral performances to major concert halls and local communities, allowing young and old to appreciate the wonder of live music.

Maintain, promote and develop music education and the appreciation of the art and science of church music, in all aspects. By the maintenance of a voluntary choir, instrumentalists and organ scholars at St Mary's Church, Portsea. And by the giving of recitals and concerts. And by the giving of recitals and concerts to further the religious and charitable work of the Church of England.

We give 8 to 18 year olds in Halifax and surrounding areas opportunities to be on stage, help out backstage, improve their acting, singing and dancing skills, boost their confidence, make life-long friends and have fun. We perform an annual musical, smaller concerts and use workshops to engage and develop their capabilities and skills for them to grow as independent, mature and responsible people.

Facilitate public education and appreciation of brass band music by providing public workshops and performances in community events, competition and concerts in our local and wider area.

General scouting activities for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts.Musical tuition for members of the community, undertake charity fund raising for other organisations.

The charity holds an annual competition for young musicians up to the age of 25 playing any instrument. About 50 entries are accepted, and prize money totalling ?11,000 will be awarded to the four finalists in 2015. Three distinguished musicians act as adjudicators. The competition is hosted by Bromsgrove School, but the Competition is entirely independent of the School.

Praise Trust publishes a hymnbook, books about hymns and their authors and composers. By a website it publishes the contents of those books, and new hymns and songs for Christian worship that have not been otherwise published.

The Society promotes, enhences and deepens the understanding and practice of the worship of the Roman Catholic Church. It does this by publishing an quarterly journal, 'Music and Liturgy', and by organising a Summer School and occasional other events. Membership of the Society is open to all.
