The objects of the CIO are to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit, including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals. We operate primarily in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

Weekly rehearsals and two annual concerts with professional (but usually student) soloists provide classical music playing opportunities for our members who include many pensioners and schoolchildren. Playing days are organised from time to time to allow 50-60 local younger and inexperienced schoolchildren to experience orchestral playing.

South London Sinfonia performs concerts in St Mildred's Parish Church, Croydon. It also holds free open rehearsals that are open to all. All performances offer the general public the chance to advance their education in and appreciation of classical music in an orchestral form.

A MIXED VOICE NON-AUDITION CHOIR OF 50 MEMBERS PROVIDING CONCERTS FOR THE PUBLIC WITH A LARGE REPERTOIRE FROM LARGE CHORAL WORKS WITH ORCHESTRA TO SONGS FROM MUSICALS AND OTHER PART SONGS. WE ARE A FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING SOCIETY.

The charity makes grants to young musicians to further their musical development. The charity has provided grants towards the cost of specialist tuition and to aid purchase of musical instruments. The charity's area of benefit is young people who are members of the CBSO Youth Orchestra.

The Friends of Tees Valley Youth Orchestra advance the education of the public by supporting and assisting the activities of the Tees Valley Youth Orchestra, a youth orchestra forming part of the Tees Valley Music Service.

The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra is a high quality orchestra of wind musicians and percussionists made up of players from the Yorkshire region. Two important aspects of the objectives of the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra are to promote the work of contemporary composers (especially British) and to encourage the development of young wind and percussion players in the Yorkshire region.

KYJO is a non-profit organisation created to provided talented young musicians with tuition and opportunity to play a mix of modern composition, jazz standards, jazz-rock, jazz-funk and similar big-band jazz. We hold regular weekly rehearsals for around 50 musicians. We operate an 'open' membership policy and advertise our presence widely. We put on 3 concerts a year in Alton, including a 'Last Night of the Proms', a Christmas Concert jointly with Alton Choral Society and a Ladies' Chamber Choir. We support the local Town Council and Community Centre in providing music for their events.

The Society orchestra rehearses once a week to develop the skills of its members and performs six concerts a year, usually to benefit charities.
