Management of the People's Hall for use by members of the town and by societies and clubs; for parties, for functions, for exhibitions, for meetings, for theatre and film shows.

The object of the charity is to cultivate the Dramatic and Operatic Arts and improve and educate the public taste in those arts; to promote the production of Dramatic and Operatic works having educative value in the foregoing and with the further object of raising funds to be devoted solely to charitable purposes.

TO PROMOTE, MAINTAIN, IMPROVE AND ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION PARTICULARLY BY THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATIONAL DRAMA AND OTHER FINE ARTS ESPECIALLY THOSE ACTIVITIES WHICH SEEK TO MAKE THE ARTS RELEVANT TO THE COMMUNITY.

It provides a Parish venue for the following activities :-YWC meetings, Parish Council meetings,Bowls Club,Childrens Dance Classes,Theatre events,Church events,Social venues ( Weddings,Funerals ,Christenings and Parties), Government Elections and Craft Fairs.It is the only public building except for the church in this rural parish.

Classes in Architecture, Art, Bird Watching, Current Affairs, Crafts, Drama, Family History, Gardening, Heritage, Line Dancing, Literature, Music Appreciation, Play Reading, Poetry, Science, Singing, Ukulele, Walking, Writing; theatre visits and interest holidays, Philosophy, Conversational Spanish.

Provide amateur theatre entertainment to wider community and perform at charitable events.

We are an umbrella organisation for the Not-For-Profit Arts in and around Brighton and Hove. We publish a quarterly arts diary, which includes events listings and profiles of member organisations. The leaflets are distributed free to the public, mainly through libraries. We also promote member groups through drama competitions and visual arts exhibitions.

Quiz Nights, Ladies nights, Disco, Pantomime, Bazaar, Hanging baskets, Spring ball, Movie nights, T-towel Sales, Summer Fayre, Cake sales etc

The village is a thriving community (approx 500 dwellings and 1200 residents). Many residents support the hall and it is key to village life. The hall is used by 16 regular groups including, Indoor Bowls, Karate, Keep Fit, Scouts, History Society, Parent and Toddler group, Dancing etc plus numerous ad hoc functions. There is a successful amateur Dramatic group with an active youth section.

The Charity maintains the Village Hall which provides a meeting place for a variety of activitiesorganised by local clubs, including Youth Club, Dressmaking,Carpet Bowls, Karate, Mothers and Toddlers, Nip-In, Table Tennis.It is also available for Drama, Dancing, Wedding Receptions, Parties, also Parish Council and Public Meetings.

Providing a social club for members and giving them opportunities to have a greater interaction with the general public by arranging regular outings to the coast and theatre.also trips to other venues and zoos

To educate the public in the dramatic and operatic arts in order to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts.

Erwood YFC is open to all young people aged 10 to 28 years of age. It offers a balanced programme which includes, education & training, community projects, sport, drama, public speaking, cookery, rural crafts and much more.

A rural Youth movement for members aged 10-26 yrs. Opportunities for young people to gain experience and confidence in entertainment & drama, public speaking, sports competitions, stock-judging & cattle rearing, travel, and skills & education. Clubs fund raise for themselves and other local charities. This is a member led organisation.

Monthly meetings. Trips to theatre and other cultural places, social trips.

Amateur theatre group producing at least 5 staged productions a year, including 1 outdoor show. High involvement of local community and fund raising for loacl charities.

Our charity purchases equipment for medical use at the medical centre and its small operating theatre for the benefit of patients covered by our surgery. None of this equipment would be provided by the local health trust or any other public body. Our charity also upgrades and replaces items of equipment as needed within our financial limits.
